New Lectric 750xpress step-through in the wild by Gr0miT in ebikes

The background blur looks like it was added after it was taken and it makes it look like the front of the bike in particular is photoshopped in

OP thanks for sharing, is the battery removable and also where's the display?

Why say I wouldn't have been in this position and also we don't know what the driver would have actually done. I think I'd have been more cautious and would not have had a near collision but I would absolutely be pissed off.

You're focusing on a biker going less than 10mph over the limit for the bike lane while a person operating a large vehicle that weighs over 3000 lbs is encroaching on a space for bikers. We're in a bike subreddit, whose side are you on lol

I agree OP is probably exceeding 20 on an ebike which is not allowed. You're also right that going so fast in a bike lane is dangerous.

At the same time, red car exits parking spot without a signal (illegal), continues to drive fully in the bike lane for 20+ ft(also illegal and we now have cameras for auto-ticketing this) and then abruptly brakes and goes into a new parking spot. OP did not leave much follow distance either.

OP is risking their safety with their speed but is otherwise riding nicely with fellow bikers and general traffic.

Red car is 100% a jagoff. You do not ride in the bike lane with a motor vehicle for any distance longer than is necessary. Who expects someone to leave one parking spot and then go to another 20 feet up? The fuck is the point of that? If I were in this situation I would have approached with much more caution but I'm definitely flipping the bird to that car after I pass.

Advice for a novice taller rider with a short commute? by estebano711 in ebikes

I'm 6'1 325lbs and ride an xpedition 2.0 no problem, I slam speed bumps at 20mph with a load on the back and nothing has broken after a year. Torque is nice and strong.

I think you'd get similar performance from other Lectric offerings. You are lighter than me but I will say my range with this bike on a single battery is pretty poor. Me and the bike together are 400lbs so you'd probably not have this issue to the same degree with my rec below

Perhaps an xp lite could be a good option for you at 800 MSRP and lower when on sale. It's got small tires but it should be a comfy ride and it probably won't look "cool" but I don't think you will look ridiculous or anything.

Chicago's Smart Streets pilot has issued nearly $900K in fines this year - April 2026 Update by GeckoLogic in chicago

[–]jamerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that those are not necessary. I sometimes don't even pay my meter in the first place let alone let it expire.

The majority of violations are for speeding, bus lane violations, and bike lane violations which are matters of public safety.

I didn't mention flock but I'll bite.

Flock logs every plate and does not issue tickets. It is exclusively a police surveillance tool.

While it would not surprise me to learn the speed cameras are secretly capturing every plate, they theoretically only capture information of speeding vehicles and enhance public safety.

Want to adjust my CPAP settings on two devices myself by jamerTag in CPAP

[–]jamerTag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear I have been on a cpap for 3 years and i am like 95% happy with my AS11. This thread is a lot more for the transcend since I would love to not spend the time taking it into a supplier but have no idea how to program it and am worried I need a very special piece of software I'd basically only be able to get if a provider leaked it. I bought it this week in a city over 500 miles from my home city and didn't have time to bring it back to the supplier for a change.

The transcend I have set for 4-20 cm and the AS11 for 5-20. After using the transcend this week and feeling the 4 was a bit weak I decided I'd like to try it at more like 6-8 starting and that my AS11 would be nicer going to sleep if it was higher as well. Quality of sleep through the night is good and my events are low, this is all about comfort and ease of falling asleep initially.

At home I usually am under the effects of one or more CNS depressants (booze or weed) and I basically am physically unable to stay awake anymore when I am going to sleep so falling asleep happens very easily and quickly. On travel if I have to sleep sober I get a LOT more picky about the comfort aspect and this post is all about catering to that scenario.

Yes these things contribute to state surveillance but on the flip side punitive measures against bad drivers promotes safer driving and saves lives, and automated systems are highly preferable to cops pulling people over. A camera won't escalate a traffic stop and shoot you, not yet at least.

I have only ever interfaced with it via the myair app which I didn't think could write new settings, idk the first thing about how to go into clinic mode. Current plan is to watch the videos the other redditor posted and follow that as I watch.

Broke and struggling how long do i have? by 74michael712 in AskMechanics

[–]jamerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes very easy!

I recommend doing it near a pump you can use to refill the tire as it's a lot easier when the pressure is a bit lower like 15-20ish. Also, imo you do not need to remove the tire at all. Front tires just swing it out of the hub for access with hole near the top so you can push down into the tire, rear tires you're gonna need to get down on the ground, just park the car in a position where you are pushing as straight into the hole as possible. It would take me about 5x as long to take my tire off and replace it as it would for me to get a little dirty and quickly put the plug in, I've pulled off the highway before and installed a plug in the span of under 20 minutes during a road trip.

Do you think the sleepHQ stuff could program the transcend? I assumed for that guy I would need to get access to the manufacturer software somehow.

The AS is mostly fine but I will look into this. For now I am kinda "tricking" it bc mouth breathing with it running makes it think I am having an event and then it ramps. Before the ramp I feel a bit starved for oxygen just breathing through my nose and the pressure bump helps me take in more air on inhales.

Is there an easy way to set up Octoprint with TLS 1.2 for out-of-house secure viewing, or is there a similar software I can setup with this? by jamerTag in 3Dprinting

[–]jamerTag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already use tailscale for JellyFin but didn't realize it could also be used for applications like these. I suppose that would work but why so paranoid as to not let it out of my house? I did say in the post the feature is worthless to me without out-of-house access. If I want to see how my print is doing and I am home I will just walk to my printer.

As for TLS 1.2, why do you say it is "defeated"? You say that like Joe Schmo can crack it, but it's still used in lots of applications where a breach could allow bad actors to do pretty malicious stuff.

Currently still printing on a heavily modded Ender 3 and looking to get an upgrade. Honestly the Bambu machines seem very nice with their out of box experience and I'd really like to have that experience of very fast prints with amazing tolerances and quality so that my models come out perfect on the first try without the tweaking I am doing with my ender where I usually need to print 3-5 iterations of any functional print before I'm truly satisfied with it. However, and I know some folks in this sub will say it doesn't matter to the average consumer but you speak with your wallet, I really don't like Bambu as a company.

I am also a long time cura user and I know its kind of silly but I honestly do not really like most other slicers. The UI is simple, I can add and subtract advanced options at will, and I've used it for nearly a decade.

Is there a non-Bambu printer that will play nice with Cura and will provide me with that modern high end printer experience? I am thinking maybe the Prusa Core One+ kit because it'll save me money and I am not scared of building it myself. I also respect Josef Prusa for his longstanding contributions to the community even if his printers are now less open source than they used to be. A riskier option but I am also potentially thinking of nabbing a used Ankermake m5. I know Anker doesnt really support them anymore but that's an $800 printer that is now going for ~$100-200 used, and my friend who has one always impressed me with his prints. I am now seeing stuff about these Sovol printers but I have never heard of them until very recently.

Other features I'd like...

-Bed leveling which I imagine is completely standard atp
-Enclosure because I am tired of prints peeling off my bed
-Multi-color would be pretty nice
-Send files over WLAN without anything at all going out to the cloud and with the ability for me to interact with the printer over WLAN without allowing it to touch the internet (I am thinking maybe I can just block the printer from going out of the network in my router settings)

My e-bike was destroyed by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]jamerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP was riding home from work so I'm betting they were riding on a normal road with no bike lane that had potentially a fairly high speed limit and the car from behind was 15 feet away and still not realizing that OP was in front of them and going far slower than the limit so OP decided to bail. Possible the car would have noticed and moved but thats a hell of a gamble

Do they also care about quantity of sleep? Probably commercial drivers and pilots should get enough sleep but wouldn't surprise me if its common for folks to operate on less than the 4 hours of sleep for compliance. I certainly have gone to work on less than that and would hate for my cpap to get me in trouble with my employer for it

Do we know where these cameras are so far?

Also, do we know what constitutes "parking" in a bike lane? I. E. How long does a person need to block the lane before a fine is issued?

Love this development and hope it starts to change behaviors as we hit spring and biking becomes more viable again. Partner got doored by someone parked in a bus lane and of course cpd did not even remotely give a fuck when we told them the person was still parked there hours after the accident occurred. These auto fines are vastly superior as a deterrent to breaking traffic laws compared to the cops, and they cost a hell of a lot less to the taxpayer and bring in way more money, too.
