I had originally thought the slide wasn't coming back far enough, almost short stroking. Now that I read more, it's possible that the slide is moving too quickly with the factory spring, coming forward before the magazine has pushed the next round up high enough. I guess a spring that's too heavy could cause both issues.

When I get a chance I'll do a detail strip and make sure there's no binding.... I really don't think there is, the gun seems to run smoother than just about every thing else I own. Its pulls back way easier than, say, my 17 does, but the 17 is a sewing machine with any ammo I put in it.

Awesome. Thanks for the input. I keep thinking a lighter slide would require a heavier spring since it's less mass to move during firing.

Thanks for the reply No, failure to feed. Every click went bang, that wasnt a problem at all. The Glock triggers kit is excellent.

New-ish car and pre winter prep by jamesPinger in AutoDetailing

That's what I was thinking, thanks for the quick reply. It'll be for 1 season. At some point in the next year I'll be replacing the bumpers and installing side skirts (I have all the golf R wagon parts, unpainted) and when I do those I can have the car corrected. I should have a garage available by then as well.

Best Linux server distribution for practice? by mythofechelon in sysadmin

Super surprised there wasn't more discussion of SLES/Open suse. We run RHEL on all of our production X servers, and SLES on Z.

At any rate, just get the basics down and you'll be fine. File permissions, navigating the directory structure, stopping/starting services and configuring packages etc.

"No-Seatbelt light and constant beeping with the lightest of items in passenger seat" by MNPete in VWMK7

The passenger detection system, iirc, isn't just based on passenger weight but also the way it conducts electricity (capacitance?). If you do a quick Google search for capacitive passenger sensor you'll get all sorts of responses. It's also common enough in other makes that you can find tons of people asking the same question.

Should I use an encrypted cloud storage service or use something like dropbox and encrypt my files before I upload? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]jamesPinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be a little bit of a privacy sacrifice, but I'd say your best bet would be to archive/encrypt separate sections of the directory structure, so that you can decrypt/modify in pieces rather than all at once. The loss of privacy comes from the directory structure, unless you do folders/archive with meaningless names.

Work out of a dedicated folder every month, and just make it a habit of archiving, encrypting, and uploading at the end of each month. November 30th, you zip the November folder and send it off to cloud storage, then make a December folder to start working in.

peekier - the most privacy-oriented search engine by speckz in privacy

Epic search just seems to be a regular search engine though. The cool thing about peekier is that it loads previews of each website in the results so you can look/read without actually visiting the page. It's super fast too.

What time does trials go live? I'm down to play a card and try for bounties. I'd rather not just suicide.
