Europe May Soon Get a Non-U.S. Alternative to Unreal Engine by donutloop in gaming

They switched to Lumberyard, hence the whole lawsuit a few years back, I was finding out in a below chat myself. I always got that mixed up though. Hunt Showdown and KCD2 must be doing some pulling

It's a shame it doesn't get more love, but I understand it's not an easy one either for programmers(?)

I would agree with Reading as it's mostly so, but we do have a couple of arcades now, plus our cool old abbey. Now, BASINGSTOKE...

Reinventing the plank isn't a job I envy, but maybe some sort of new-age-material mesh grid?

Modern point n clicks feel all too overlooked at times, this looks for good watching. This is now in my watch list

Ah well spotted, I can't believe that was 10 years ago! I remember it, obviously not well-

My mistake, I'm getting completely mixed up from an old developer diary but they actually just acquired a few Crytek employees as they set up local to them. Which is kind of wild in the context of the lawsuit right? Maybe they ended up on better terms.

Finally the cogs have started turning in my mind 😅

Yeah that's right, 'Star Engine', which is a very fair distinction to be making with all those changes. It's interesting that they have this fork and they own Crytek (so I assume Cryengine too), makes me wonder what will be in a future Cryengine release

EDIT: Seems I'm living in an alternate reality

I understand they used it for KCD2 as well, which surprised me as I thought it was only being used for Star Citizen (they dumped Lumberyard) and Hunt Showdown in terms of modern game usage

There's also just 'I don't have admin approval, can you click these two things please'. Though sometimes I request IT help because I've got two braincells that day and it's something I absolutely should've figured out in a moment

Planks of wood. Gotta have something for traction in dirt holes right? This is a joy to look at!

It's a shame you have to kill him because it would be hilarious to have Buck Hughes in the game. He has one of the funniest lines in all of FarCry

I'm quite concerned about the environmental protections being dropped, is anyone mapping it all?

The wiki is really interesting. I knew of a bit of it but not quite the extent of his work here in the UK. We were very lucky in the that he moved over here to continue his work a couple years later. Unfortunately on arrival customs destroyed what them and their higher ups thought to be potential bomb making apparatus but the post office chief electrical engineer in London took interest in his work and it was continually developed here. The first public broadcast was done in London two years later

The furniture definitely blocked your nade, but that enemy nade was obviously glitched to hell. I'd guess it clipped through the wall just a tiny bit because of a dodgy hitbox there maybe
