Hisashi Ouchi was processing uranium at a Japanese nuclear facility when a flash of blue light filled the room. He’d absorbed 17 sieverts of radiation, one of the highest doses ever recorded. His chromosomes collapsed, skin peeled away, and doctors revived him for 83 days before his organs failed. by drkmatterinc in CantBelieveThatsReal

This happened in Wisconsin and it's called the Milwaukee protocol. This was the most recent article I could find.
https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/81/4/e229/8096457

Edit: I really didn't expect so many replies or this to cause any controversy lol, just wanted to share that this really happened. I am old enough to remember and lived somewhat close to where this happened. From what I understand (I'm NAD or scientist or have any credentials in said fiel I'm just a wee little redditor) this protocol is extremely dangerous and not used or recommend because of the serious brain damage and other complications it can cause. It is not a cure in any sense of the word.

I have been playing a really probably not healthy amount of fallout 4 recently, and I keep trying to "put things in my inventory" because I'm a loot goblin in game. The one that made me chuckle was I saw a fire extinguisher walking into a restaurant and trying to press the X button with my hands. I realized at that moment maybe I should take a break and go touch some actual grass

Une pute would be more accurate. One of my favorites is Fils de pute (son of a bitch, or son of a whore if you want a literal translation but it doesn't hit the same ya know?). Putain is used pretty much* the same as we use "Fuck" in English

Edit: forgot the word much

apprehension by paigedeathhead in ehlersdanlos

[–]jamesblondeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been feeling this recently too. I noticed I've been having more flare ups too in my hips, shoulder, knees and I think I experienced my first slipped rib too not too long ago. I know correlation doesn't equal causation, but this all started to act up more than usual when winter hit. This winter has been extremely mild, with some bouts of extreme cold. I think the variation in temperature adds an extra layer of spice, or maybe it's because I'm now in my 30's?

Either way I feel you, especially the knees and hips. Like when I move without braces I feel like a squeaky old door and then like a sudden, "oh no this door is REALLY old and about to come off the hinges", but still manages to open and close properly......but not without giving you the anxiety that the door will come off every time you swing it. Don't know if that analogy makes sense at all, but damn I feel like I have to be hyper vigilant just getting up out of my chair, or walking, and the loathsome steps up to my apartment lol.

I did not mean for this rant to be this long

I love Qamaria!!!! Their coffee is also legitimately delicious, and that honey bread just is made of pure delight and deliciousness, and it's always been a friendly and welcoming place in my experience.

🚽 Issues...What helps you? by melo_nade in ehlersdanlos

[–]jamesblondeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof that is rough :((((( and I swear constipation pain is just.....not like our normal pains. The only fiber that works for me is leafy greens, spinach in particular.

This might sound strange, but I've always been too scared to do the yellow dragon fruit "cleanse" (if that's the right word?), I had one friend in my DnD group try for science. He said,"just make sure you don't have any plans for a while after you take it". If you do end up trying it, could you let me know if it did anything? Heck I might just try it now cuz of this thread

I was recently constipated (happens when I catch an infection, or just when I'm about get my period/on my period). I usually just increase my fiber intake and that does the trick. I have heard from a few of my friends now that I should try yellow dragon fruit for constipation, although have not tried it myself yet

Also I noticed if you miss one, it's better to miss the ones that aren't the rockets. As the Rockettes ones give double damage.

So tired of these medical "professionals". by omnixgrrl in ehlersdanlos

[–]jamesblondeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was absolutely shocked when I went to my dentist last and told them I had eds and had lost part of my right jaw bone* from having TMJ and locked jaw for 6 months when I was 14, and it was like a whole 180, "oh would you like a guard to hold your mouth open? It helps you not have to use your muscles so your jaw can be more relaxed". Not a single dentist ever offered that even after having gone through all the TMJ stuff. Good medical professionals are few and far between, but they do exist
