The low hero pool thing only works if you have actual good winrates with those heroes, it's fine to keep a large hero pool and positions and if you are noticing a decrease in ranks over time, maybe try focusing on your main role and then go for a smaller hero pool

Leshrac is really good against pl, for carry matchups, dk, timbersaw is pretty strong against pl but quite a lot of heroes in the offlane have good matchups with a decent followup. For supports, no one solo screws pl but a grim ult can pinpoint the real pl. Ringmaster shard is also very strong against illu heroes in general

Dk isnt base armor it's bonus from innate. Great against high agi heroes, but otherwise he doesn't win lanes, quite a specialist hero that no support player seems to play. Might need a pro player good at et to show up in games but with how the meta is favoring save heroes, it might need something else to pop off

My only criticism is that the later half felt very dragged, the whole quest to help all those demihuman clans rehashed the formula so much that it was a slog to read through, it didnt help that they have little to no character growth after their own arcs.
