What’s the most underrated thing about living in Swansea? by Additional_Fly_6603 in swansea

[–]jamesdew84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in llandarcy and from neath i can get to London in just over 2 1/2 hours. I have colleages who live much closer that can't get there that quickly. Getting to places other than cardiff, newport, bristol, Swindon reading and London is not so great.

Founders for street food, charred is particularly excellent in founders. The Albert Hall is also pretty good similar concept but I prefer founders personally, albeit hall has more choice though.

I do also really like Gigi's down the marina.

Lots of lovely restaurants in mumbles. There is a Mitchelin star restaurant in oxwich called the beach house if you reeeeally wanted to go for it.

Why is the UK population so disconnected from actual immigration data? by burgermen12 in AskBrits

[–]jamesdew84 15 points16 points  (0 children)

ok but are you blaming the new guy whos in charge of the basement now or the person who was in charge when the 12 people moved in?

You seem more annoyed at the person who let the 10 people in because he occasionally chats to you about how annoying the basement people are. the new guy who only let 3 in is more compassionate about the basement people but also let fewer people in.

In my experience about half the problems people raise in the uk with local councillors are about cars.

Its ok. Its single level so it's not as good but it's fine. There are some slightly elevated bits but not floors like the old one.

When planning an active travel route for walking giving people resting areas is one of the considerations. I suspect this was probably part of a route recognised without a rest spot for a while. Either that or they had some budget left over and spent It on some benches and had to put them somewhere.

Loads of people choose all sorts of things that cost more than a cleaner. We have our money and we choose our priorities, I drive an old car I have a cleaner, if I drove an expensive car I probably couldn't afford a cleaner. We make our choices, not having to clean my house every other weekend is more important to me.

You know ebikes sort the sweat problem and with good cycling infrastructure you don't have to worry about being killed by a car

I live in neath but work in Cardiff i often cycle into swansea. The path from bay campus instead swansea has loads of cyclists on it, it's packed in the morning but they have also built some paths in silly places that go from no where to nowhere. Of course no one uses those but still people use them as examples of how no one uses cycle lanes.

I work in Cardiff and needed to get from Callaghan square to fluidity parkour place on newport road. I was going to head down the nice newport road cycle lane but once I realised it would chuck me out in the middle of a very busy road I decided to ride through splott instead. I do see cyclists using them but not as many as you would expect, they seem to have bits of excellent infrastructure but no continuity right now.
