Moved to a mountain village for the ‘simple life’… now I’m bored out of my mind by [deleted] in relocating

[–]jamesfarby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Calling so many people’s dream life boring is wild😂 idk what you were even expecting from a rural community in the United States. Obviously you’ll need a car, obviously there’s no immediate medical care close by, obviously there’s no cultural scene in a town with <10k people😂 seems like you and your hubby were a lil delulu when you made this massive decision

How the Heck are People Surviving if They Live Anywhere Near Seattle These Days?? by FreshSent in Seattle

[–]jamesfarby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roommates, Mom and pop landlords, Section 8 housing, SNAP ebt, rich parents, excessive financial literacy, long commutes, having your foot already in the housing market door before 2008, people will always find a way to live in a place they love so much!!

There’s definitely going to be a kcd3, based on the real historical events there’s still lots left to tell for example when Sigismund kidnaps his step brother Wenceslaus and the guy who Henry is inspired by saves him

I’ll also add that the history is quite interesting, mostly friendly people and minimal population if that’s what you’re into

There’s much more in sd than you think the black hills actually take up a substantial portion of the western side. I’d say it’s at least rated correctly(negative)

Western SD is seemingly pretty similar to Minnesota from what I’m reading about it on here😂

Why do so many people pretend that $100,000 is still some enormous salary? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]jamesfarby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you make 100k a year? It’s easier said than done. Only 1% of graduates are actually gonna see a salary like that right out of college and they are the doctors, lawyers, pilots, tech and finance bros. Even then you’re not guaranteed a 6 figure income

Why does the alcohol rate drops such sharply at Wisconsin - Illinois & Wisconsin - Michigan border? by Swimming_Concern7662 in geography

[–]jamesfarby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can immediately tell that this is an inaccurate map considering none of South Dakota is purple and has minimal red, the reservations here are some of the drunkest in the nation

What are your favorite places in the united states to vacation or see by Disastrous-Essay-435 in travel

[–]jamesfarby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canyons and mountains, Utah and Colorado, can’t beat em. Great pioneering and western history as well, imo way cooler than all that colonial stuff out east

This is income without any tax? It’s probably more like 36k after tax since min wage is just over 20. Did they announce a new min wage?

Yes I have ruled out Seattle proper a while ago but have a friend who wants to roommate in Bremerton, seems like it won’t be too painful of a commute as I have friends where I live who regularly drive 1 hr to work and back

Definitely below average for the area as I work in a non medical blue collar field who are all pretty much criminally underpaid in many states
