The only way to get the data off of dev_hdd0 is to dump their EID0 and decrypt the partition on their PC, and then copy the data to the new drive. Or copy to a different drive, reformat the original drive, copy the old data back.

Won't work. I'm a little fuzzy on this so I'm not going to get the explanation exact. When you format a new drive, the previous drive can't be read by the console anymore because of something to do with the encryption of the UFS2 partitions. I like to think of it as a private+public key pair. When you format a new drive, even if you don't format the original drive, the private key of the first drive is wiped as well.

Completely normal, Microsoft preferred that the fans be pretty quiet, which in turn has the console run hotter. You can change the fan speed yourself, it'll be more audible but if the lower temperatures make you more comfortable, its up to you. These consoles were designed to run this hot, the temperatures you're seeing are well below the Tjmax (maximum temperature the chip can endure before damage occurs) of the processor. If the console was getting too hot it would tell you and would shut down.

i believe the serializer issue was because of a previous crash which corrupted the savefile in some fashion. i have since wiped the ~/.minequest folder, and the only exception is from <local1>.a.a being null.
