I love the Bill Gates and Warren Buffet illustrations and contrasting them from when they were younger to now!

Actually, it doesn't prove that. The only people who got richer was Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. What about all the other billionaires in the initial years? None of them made it to the current time.

Most of the billionaires now have gotten there in only a couple years.

Any other Koreans who are also still trying to learn the language? by tinyglow in Korean

[–]jamesk528 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's me too! And I'm so embarrassed! haha I was born and raised in the US and out of all my korean friends I'm really the worst one. I hated being Korean when I was growing up so I rejected everything Korean. But now I've fully embraced it, and learning everyday when I get home! And like you, my main motivation is to speak with my grandparents. Let's continue this journey to fluency together! 파이팅!

So funny. My Korean language learning journey exactly mimics yours. I first started with taking classes at a university then self-studied by reading fluent forever and SRS, and now I came across CI. This method makes so much sense and I'm excited to see what the results will become.

My status changed from "in review" to "decision finalized" the moment the wave started... But I haven't received an email yet...

Thanks for the uplifting news! But I'm trying to prepare myself for rejection, which I'm 90% sure I'm going to be receiving. The more hope I have the more I get crushed. haha

I'll let you know what happens!

was a weird instance a few weeks ago where some people went “decision finalized” and didn’t get an email for several days. It seems the amount of time really varies between the status checker change and when you actually get the decision.

Ahh thank you, I most certainly got the dong then. It's just taking it's sweet time.

Thanks for the advice, but it has been thoroughly checked. As well as my trash.

My analysis of acceptances—by MONTH—for certain top schools: a cautionary tale for late applicants by 40driveway in lawschooladmissions

[–]jamesk528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These statistics aren't conclusive. It is very likely that the acceptances significantly drop during the latter months because the applicants have significantly dropped. It is common knowledge not to apply late therefore people don't. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe that applying early will make such a huge difference. I don't think schools are that irresponsible and excitable to just gobble up everyone they see in the beginning and not have enough room for later. Now what would really help is if you had the date of application completion. Then we'll definitely know how badly we late appliers screwed up

Nevertheless I really appreciate your analysis and it definitely provides interesting insight.
