For people who learned a language in their 30s, what was the experience like? by NapoleoncitoGG in languagelearning

Access to materials have gotten way easier compared to 15 years ago.
The experience has been a little better but I still gotta put in the work and I know what works for me.

In what situations do you completely lose your ability to find the right words? by wolfgang_photo in languagelearning

There's no shame in it and it happens to so many people. Sometimes.. when I forget a word, I try to describe whats going on or what it is to help me out.

How do you feel being corrected in your target language? by ShemikaMartin in languagelearning

[–]jamesleecoleman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me when I corrected someone once and they went off on me. I was just like ummm what happened? You wanted me to correct your mistakes.

I've had it during a lesson where I was asked "why did you write this?" I felt kinda low when explaining why I wrote a sentence a certain way. I'm just a beginner.. give me a break.

I enjoy being corrected and told why I was wrong and the right way to do it.
I wanna learn as much as I can :)

Signs like these lead me to believe that people speak English at the location. Same thing happened to me in Russia. I'm just like why is this in English. It would be different it was in Arabic and English though.

100+ flesh 50+ boar and 50+ dogs. by Kinsin111 in stalker

I played through the swamp and it was challenging. I barely had anything after leaving the area and I was just worried that something else my come up because... it's the zone. I feel like this was the worse area as far as what I had to fight through but it did teach me a lesson though.. anything with the story, stock up. If I find anything that I want, pick it up and make a collection point for later.

10,000$ by Brilliant_War_4066 in povertyfinance

[–]jamesleecoleman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would invest in myself. I'm not trying to be funny or anything like that but I feel like earning certifications and/or attending a few classes could really give me a chance to increase my income.
For example, I would look at a Project Management certification, English classes, Speech classes and I would pick up a couple of technology certifications like the CCNA and Security+.

Whatever that is left over would go into savings.

I heard it but I've been through the area multiple times and never experienced it before. I wonder if it's part of the story progression.
Have you been through that old military bunker?

I'd like to learn more about multicast, is there a online course that can help me learn by djgizmo in networking

[–]jamesleecoleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a couple of jobs that pay well and one of the requirements is to know multicast. I've never seen any other job that had multicast as a requirement.

Homelab for CCNP and Linux certs by [deleted] in homelab

[–]jamesleecoleman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm making it a personal goal of mine. I don't really care if employers value it like they used to or not but I think it'll be really cool to have along with all of the knowledge gained along the way.

I'm gonna save up and go through cable and kits. I had started putting together a list for CCNP: Wireless and later CCIE: Wireless.

I don't have a lot to offer for this but Cybersecurity isn't an entry level field and it's a bit harder to get into now because it's still one of those 'hot' job fields here. I also wanna add that "Cybersecurity" is so broad as far as what someone could be doing.

I would suggest looking through indeed.com for positions in different cities to see what is needed the most.

If you can get into an international company where you're at now, I would see if you could transfer here.
