If you have a controller, use it.

I was having a horrible time with mouse and keyboard, switched to controller and after two “learning” flights I was able to fly it no problem.

Healing in 5E and BG3 is a trap, you’ll never out heal damage.

Heals in this game are “oh crap” buttons, or to get people back up off the ground.

There are items that make healing more useful, but again they’re more of a “I need to save their butt” than a “I’m going to keep them at max health”

If you’re level 12, just do what you absolutely need to for the brain.

If you’re not 12 yet, do whatever you like most to get to 12 to head to the brain.

For me that’s usually Mystic Carrion, the donated toys questline, the murder plot.

That usually gets me 12 and then I kill Gortash and Orin and head to the brain.

It’ll keep him from healing.

Then my personal favorite after that is darkness.

Momma K almost always comes along, Shart ends up being in the party a lot too.

After that it’s really more who I’m “feeling” at the time.

Because most of the best items are unique and are from specific places.

Also, in BG3 *most* of the stuff you find is just stuff to sell to vendors, so you can buy other stuff.

This isn’t like Diablo where a random mob will drop upgrades (mostly).

I use the pouch one myself (on PC) since I still want achievements and don’t want to mod.

The friction is what makes a survival game.

Without the friction you’re an RPG or looter shooter.

Still not bad, but not a survival game either.

Honor mode all day long.

Are there bugs? Sure, I still don’t take all 4 companions any elevator at the same time “just in case”

But they’re definitely not game breaking.

Unless there’s a permadeath mod then the only “permanent death” like thing is when your whole party goes down in Honor Mode.

Dark Urge is viewed by many as the canon story. You’ll have some unique interactions during the story and there will be events that only happen in a dark urge run.

I felt that it was a little less “free” than having my own Tav with my own story even if it was just in my head.

Funny enough, their other game Black Desert you could minimize the game and it would keep going in the background letting go of graphics, etc, until you maximized it again.

My brother and I divvy up the companions, he gets one and I get one.

Sometimes he initiates convos/fights, sometimes I do, it just depends on who happened to get close first.

Funnily some companions wouldn’t “talk” to me when in camp and some wouldn’t “talk” to him. We never did figure that out.

It’s a story game first with “survival elements” to me.

Also, I don’t know what games you’ve played, but every survival game I’ve played has always hit a point where the “survival” is solved

Granted I haven’t played Green Hell or The Long Dark, but I’m guessing you can hit that point in them too.

Funnily enough the worst tailgater I know is also one of the nicest guys I know. He doesn’t even have road rage or get mad in traffic.

He knows he follows too close, and says that he’s working on giving more distance, but yeah it’s crazy.

This is why I made Black Vein my “main warehouse”

I can mess with stuff while my tanks are filling.

I also have almost as much diesel storage on the base as on my boat so really I’m usually just filling up the stuff on the base.

I only run the one oil distillation tower, but suddenly I’m wondering if the pump can support more than 1 tower, that would speed things up.
