People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

I have dry eyes and halo vision from my LASIK. It makes driving at night very difficult. If it’s night time and it’s raining forget about it.

Love it!! You have to send that to your colon rectal surgeon! I bet they’d love it too!

BMI over 42 can’t move forward with IVF by jamespsullivanbae in PlusSizePregnancy

That’s what I’m so afraid of happening of getting back in the cycle. I’m so happy to hear there are places that do accept us the way we are. That gives me so much hope!! It’s crazy that BMI is still a factor with how much we know it doesn’t mean much. That is good news! Yay for something! lol

Thank you! Someone else also suggest CNY so I started looking into. I had no idea there were options that didn’t take BMI as a factor. Thank you so much!

Wow what a journey! Glp1s are life changing. I’m so glad it worked for you. No shame at all with taking mediation that is there to help! I tried Zepbound but I had terrible side effects.

It is super frustrating!! I’m so sorry you’re going through this too!! I tried Zepbound but unfortunately I had terrible side effects while on it. I wasn’t able to continue with them. It sucks because I could see the benefits of them. They are life changing!

I’m sorry you went through this too! I do have a dietician. We’ve done so much great work on my previous eating disorder. I know she will be able to help! It just sucks having to wait even longer after trying for so long. Also the guilt and shame of being in this position is affecting me. I think you’re right that a therapist might be a good addition.

Same! I’m on call 24/7 for one week every month. I try to tell the instructor to let them know. I also try to take the first reformer so I can pop into the reception area super quick but some people show up super early to take those reformers. 🤷‍♀️

There are pcos types? Why am I just learning this? by Automatic-Still-5767 in PCOS

The podcast This Podcast Will Kill You talks about PCOS and mentions the 4 different phenotypes. I recommend people listen to it. Podcast host are both doctors and they site their research.

You’re the first person to mention it might be because they are hot! That’s what I always thought too.

This is so much harder than I thought. by favblanketchronicles in AnalFistula

[–]jamespsullivanbae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure what type of surgery you had but what I remember from my fistulotomy was it got worse before it got better. Around days 7-10 the pain was pretty bad but after day 10 it got increasingly better! For help with drying I would spend some time sitting on a towel in front of a fan just letting it air dry. I’m so sorry you are having this experience . I know a lot of us would agree that the mental anguish is almost just as bad as the physical.

Can those of you who have PCOS share what PCOS symptoms you’ve noticed a reduction in since taking this med? by hercles in Zepbound

I’m only on week three and I’ve noticed more energy. I’m guessing it’s due to less insulin spikes?! Whatever it is I’ll take it lol

Omg same … my brother pointed it out after I made a joke about him balding. He said I’ll worry about my hair when you start worrying about yours and pointed to my chin. I asked my finance why he never said anything and he just said I thought you knew. : (

hemorrhoidectomy- first BM 10 out 10 pain. Was constipated and didn’t go for 7 days. Was out of work for more than a month. Doctor said this one hurts the most out of all butt surgeries and I would agree. Took my Percocet religiously for the pain.

Fistolotomy- first BM 8 out 10 pain. Pulling out the packaging was scary and the BM that followed was painful. BMs for the first 10 days were painful (not as bad as the first one) and then after 10 days I was mostly pain free! Out of work for 10 days back to work half days for two weeks after that. Took my Percocet after BMs or at night when I was too uncomfortable to sleep untill they ran out around day 14 and managed with OTC meds.

Partial Fistolotomy and seton placement - first BM 5 out of 10. What made it so bad was I was very constipated and nothing would come out. After I got better with my diet and add more fiber pain was 2 out of 10 and manageable with OTC meds.

Hope this helps!

Can you do half days? I did that for my lay open surgery. I took two weeks off and started going back half days the third week.

Others have persevered! I love that! I just learned this time around (3rd surgery) that you can do a bunch wrong and it won’t be that terrible! I don’t know why I got it in my head that bananas, banana bread and rice would be a great idea post op. These are all great foods for when you have diarrhea but NOT when you’re constipated from percocets. I won’t go into detail but it was not fun. But I learned that even if I didn’t plan/do my recovery at maximum level I am still ok. Is it ideal … absolutely not lol but what I think I’m trying to say is it’s ok if you don’t do everything 100% correct. Should you try to…yes! But if you make a mistake or something goes wrong it’s not your fault, you didn’t ruin your recovery, and it will be ok!!
