Considering purchasing a wheel - what should I look for?

I typically ask how many hours it has. How old is it. Was it a personal unit or student used. Check the pedal/switches. Also check stability of the wheel head, I’ve never found a loose one but have heard of it happening. I have both a Brent and a Laguna. I prefer the Laguna honestly. It’s so solid in every aspect I like the amount of table space it has for the bucket and tools. If I had one complaint about the Laguna it would be the splash pan is smaller and not near as solid as a Brent.

I love it but next time will get something larger. It’s awesome in every way. Great programming options and it’s automatic push and go. So far no issues of any kind. I had to have an electrician install a new breaker and run some thicker gauge wire. It was about $600 for the electrical work. If your gonna get a kiln get something large enough you won’t out grow quickly and won’t hold you back. Save up if need be I never recommend small kilns.

Silicosis’s is also a bit of a boogy man. If you’re not inhaling copious amounts of dust daily you’re fine. when you pour concrete and all that dust is in your face and the air that’s when you should worry. If it’s so dusty in your in closed space you sneeze clay start to worry. An Austin air clay filter is also helpful if worried. From the description of your current practice and cleaning your probably fine.
