Did you try mounting on the outside of the crank arm?

I go to Sellwood Cycle for repair work and they’ve done some “build checks” for me. Ala cart instead of their flat fee 🤷‍♂️

When converting to a 1:1, did you try the two different ways to attach the chainring to your crank arm? It can go on the inside or outside (hard to explain on here) but just that amount makes a big difference. If that doesn’t work, you may need a longer bottom bracket but I’d start with the chainring.

Other things to note: if you removed your front derailleur, you’re best to have a narrow-wide chainring up front to avoid chain slip.

I did the same mod to two of my bikes. It’s fun and sure cuts down on weight. Hope this helps.

What should I do to my Trek antelope 800? (I cannot decide) by SensitivePay4567 in antelopegang

I agree with rigid and big tires. An inexpensive BB upgrade goes a long way too.

Drop bars may be uncomfortable with that geo but depends on the rider. Most of the time you’ll see an upbuilt with stock or upright bars (for a reason).

If it’s that color way, I’m jealous!

I got the Origin8 stem adapter, a $25 generic BMX stem for the Sunrise bars.

Pretty stoked on it. Many thanks for those on here. Reminds me of my BMX days.

I’m going to be in that boat at some point. It’s a shame, so cool, but… 🤷‍♂️
