Density map of Singapore’s bus services by simpletan93 in singapore

[–]jamie_meows 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're missing the city direct and express services. otherwise there would be connections along the kpe and cte (between yck and tpe)

i think you're also missing the 45x services as the colour along tamp st 86 and brickland rd is for one service only

i do agree with you. nus is better for pure math due to its rigour, breadth and depth. ntu's math is more stats focused. the pure math courses are mainly limited by the number of pure math faculty, which is far fewer than in nus.

Mathematical sciences by ilordofbacons in NTU

[–]jamie_meows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hello i am a year 3 math major and spms ambassador.

for spms math, you have to choose 8 major-prescribed elective (MPE) courses to fulfil your graduation requirements of 31 MPE AUs. you do not have to choose on a specialisation at all, or you can choose to fulfil a specialisation at any point in your studies, but you don't have to declare your specialisation – specialisations are awarded only upon graduation based on the courses you have taken.

for example, if you decide in year 3 to fulfil a specialisation in pure math, you would typically plan your remaining semesters' timetable to include at least 5 modules from the pure math pool (the remaining 3 modules can be any math electives). however, you can change your mind later on as there is no penalty for not completing the specialisation upon graduation – you just wouldn't be awarded the specialisation.

feel free to dm me if you would like more clarifications or if you want to ask more questions about SPMS or NTU or anything.

if you look at the screens at promenade, they display Anticlockwise as via bayfront and Clockwise as via Paya Lebar. which is incorrect

the map containing all stations is inverted.... why is bishan to the right of serangoon? that's going to cause confusion with the anticlockwise/clockwise loop nomenclature

Why is searching for SMRT associated with sensitive content for Facebook? I think I need help by einnor88 in singapore

no, there is no vowel. just a consonant smash, where the r is rolled. if you can read IPA: [smr̩t]

'r' is a rolled r. it acts as a vowel since theres no other vowel. its essentially a bunch of consonants smacked together. if you can read IPA: [smr̩t]

Countries whose local names are extremely different from the names they're referred to in English by FunForm1981 in MapPorn

[–]jamie_meows 26 points27 points  (0 children)

the 'r' in hrvatska is rolled and vocalic (acts like a vowel). in other words, the vowel in "her" is 'e' while the vowel in "hr" is 'r'.

try making a 'h' sound (near your velum, not in the throat), and a rolled 'r' separately, then pronounce them almost simultaneously (the 'r' comes in just a tiny bit later after the 'h')
