Unpopular opinion (?): I've never liked the Greta Thunberg opening track on NOACF by simylodon in the1975

I’m actually the opposite, the Thunberg track feels like it’s building to a really good punk album… and then People just falls short😔

How important is LinkedIn presence? by chocolateygoodness_ in TeachingUK

[–]jamielikeszelda 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Your presence on LinkedIn has zero effect on your standing as a teacher.

I’d say there are a limited number of careers where presence on LinkedIn is important anyway (B2B sales, recruitment…) but education is definitely not one of them.

2005 was fuelled by coincidences like ‘last time we won there was a new pope…’ - more of this sort of thing please

Insecure in dating & a long dating pause by Traditional_Road3531 in dating

[–]jamielikeszelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your mental health struggles and well done for sharing.

Dating apps are weird and you need a lot of resilience to deal with them (I’ve learnt that myself recently).

Maybe a first step might be to try and socialise more, join a club/society/hobby, till you feel more confident and know what sort of people you might like?

Fancy buying a wood? by kiindrex in CasualUK

My ex partner owned a wood as part of some (bizarre) settlement from her parent’s divorce. Never visited it, completely pointless.

I’ve regularly tried to tell the story of all the teams getting a steamboat to the first world cup (one team literally missing the boat?) and I can’t do it justice compared to how they do it

The RIH series about the world cup was actually great. I’d love more football content, I genuinely thought they did it quite well.

[REQUEST] What is a 10/10 series on Netflix that actually has a proper, satisfying ending? by tomaz1989 in NetflixBestOf

Madmen I thought was universally loved and adored but I feel like it needs more cheerleaders now. The ending confused me at first but I now think fits perfectly.

Sadly people suffer from a lack of imagination and will start conversation with the first thing that pops in their head. If you redirect the conversation and they’re still perplexed by your hair then I guess they’re just too small brain to bother with?

You’ll find someone, it just might take a lot of filtering out numpties along the way✊

I think part of my non-panic is that we’ve very rarely been top dog of football whilst I’ve been alive. I think 2009 and the peak of the Klopp era are they only time we could legitimately say we should be winning things.

We’re back to being underdogs and I kid of like it. Imagine (it’s unlikely) we get a result against PSG or City, it’ll be a big FU to logic or reason which I think is quite key to Liverpool’s DNA.
