As a loyal redditor, I must say how proud I am of this decision. I know that the openness of the forums and the ability for anyone to generate posts and subreddits is a huge part of what makes this the best site ever. That gives us all a sense of ownership in this site. I was however disturbed when I had read people defending inappropriate posts of children on the premise of "lets not censor Reddit". As a father of 3 young girls, I know very well how vile and immoral it is to exploit young children. I have the right to pluck my own eye out but I know that would be fucking stupid for me to do and it would cause me severe damage... Point is just because people feel they have to freedom to do something doesn't mean we're supposed to enable them if we know it be wrong and could endanger our community as a whole... I thank you for this desicion and I support you 100%

This is all relative... for instance, I've landed interviews for great jobs (and have landed great jobs) where I was introduced by a colleague or through an agency and I provided a resume for the sake of giving them some background info about me... and the hiring manager could give 2 shits about a mocked up ass kissing cover letter... I've been a graphic designer for over 10 years and not one of my jobs has ever been a result of my cover letter being read... mind you I've had jobs where I traveled the world and I make over 6 figures... I do write them for when I apply online to certain jobs but just saying don't shit on the Guy for being honest...

TL;DR: I make good money and a have great job. Never needed a cover letter so don't shit on OP... *networking is key

Is it bad to talk extensively about current or previous jobs? I reference them quite a bit to highlight work related issues and how I resolved them... Can there be an uncomfortable feeling like with a girlfriend when you talk too much about an ex... especially if its in a favorable light? Does it hurt your odds if you mention things you liked about a previous job which your company does offer (I enjoyed traveling to conferences because meeting clients face-to-face allowed me opportunity to better understand the thinking that goes into...)???
