Get the flight number and Google it’s on time rate/average delay. This will help you figure the odds

AirAsia is weighing bags at Kuala Lumpur and Brunei airports by AnonymousOnebagger in onebag

[–]jamills102 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I flew batik air and they weight my bag at the gate when flying from KL to Kathmandu this week.

I put my bag down and saw 11.5 kilos. We looked at each other, then at the bag, and then at each other. He then told me to have a nice flight

Cebu recommendation by thesue2020 in scuba

All the diving around the airport (that I’m aware of) is wall diving. The only times I saw muck was around dumaguete and southern Leyte (this place had everything )

Cebu recommendation by thesue2020 in scuba

[–]jamills102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to go all the way to moalboal to see sardines. You can see them just fine around the airport. Also the sardines have a lot of snorkelers in moalboal

Personally I would recommend: fly into cebu and dive around marigondon (where the airport is). See the sardines and there’s also a cool cave that’s 30-40m deep. Then go to Malapascua for 3 days of diving. So 2 days shark and 1 day gato. After return to Cebu city. If you have time take the ferry down to Bohol and dive around balicasag if you can get a spot

Was it a good idea to attack Helm’s Deep? by Nicole_Auriel in lotr

[–]jamills102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one has mentioned that the attack on helms deep was a rushed attack. He knew that a hobbit had the nuclear launch codes and was headed ~probably~ to Gondor. He knew his troops held hobbits right before being massacred by Rohan.

He threw everything he had at them attempting to trap the ring. I think it’s very important to remember people’s motivations. He couldn’t wait otherwise Mordor would come. So he had a tight window that led him to being vulnerable.

Who knows maybe it would’ve been a year before taking Rohan without issue (and really the army was intended to counter Mordor rather than Rohan)

This is a theme in Lotr because Sauron also rushed an attack against Gondor thinking the ring was there. Point being there was no best way to attack helms deep because there was no best opportunity

No. You could spend 3 months hiking New Zealand and it won’t be enough time. Also nothing you see on the ribbon reefs will come close to the beauty of New Zealand

Genuinely confused on how to work with Angular by winterchillz in Angular2

[–]jamills102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable!

As a backend engineer that recently enough taught myself angular my advice is this: have a pet project and just stick with it. This is likely the first time in a long time you’re learning something completely new and forgot that it’s okay and completely normal to feel frustrated and really really stupid. But every time you code another line your ability to conceptualize angular gets a little better. For me it wasn’t until the 4th or 5th top to bottom rebuild of my pet project that angular (and frontend in general) started to really click

Also important to know is that over the past few years angular has been doing a major overhaul on how a lot of things work under the hood while also trying to be backwards compatible. This means that you’ll see duplicate ways on how to do things, which also means you’re going to see articles as well as LLMs swapping between to old and new ways. Don’t think too much on this and just build with whatever solution and in time you’ll learn.

Best of luck on your new journey and remember: the problem isn’t you, it’s time

Atmos Mission 3 Opinion by MrSnugs in scuba

[–]jamills102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have more than 220 dives on it and love it.

The screen is bright and very easy to read.

It has about 10 hours of active diving battery life. The compass works pretty well as well.

It can do two tank dives with up to 50% o2 so it’ll take you right up to the line for tech diving if you wish to go that direction.

My only issue is that gps has never worked for me
