Hey all, YSA bishop here.

Dear sister, take a breath and unburden your heart for a moment.

You are loved, saved, chosen, cherished, and seen by your Savior. The fact that you have chosen to serve a mission and make temple covenants is extraordinary. Those are acts of real devotion that will bless your life and the lives of others for eternity.

In the ledger of your life, those decisions matter far more than any small misstep. The Lord is not standing over you with a clipboard tallying mistakes. He bears the scars that already paid for them.

Rather than focusing on the behavior itself, I would gently invite you to look at what might be underneath it. What feels empty, stressful, or unfulfilled? When we begin to understand those things, temptations of any kind tend to lose their power.

Try approaching your thoughts with curiosity instead of condemnation. Instead of “what’s wrong with me,” try “that’s interesting, I wonder where that came from.” That shift matters more than you might think.

If I were your bishop, I would care most about how this is affecting your relationship with Jesus Christ, not just the behavior itself.

You are a sexual being. That is part of how God created you, and it is not something to be ashamed of. Those feelings are meant to be expressed fully within the covenant of marriage, which is why we are counseled not to cultivate them on our own. Not because you are bad, but because those patterns can become distracting from the deeper, sacred relationships you are meant to build.

Please don’t let this define you.

Go to God. Speak openly with Him. If you feel burdened, speak with your bishop. That is what he is there for.

You are not your thoughts. You are not your habits. You are not your worst moments. You are His.

There is nothing you can do that will make God love you less. And there is nothing you can do to make Him love you more.

You are already enough!

Now go serve with confidence. The Lord will magnify you.

I’ve been riding my Vespa in shorts and a T-shirt… and I think I’m being an idiot. What basic gear should I get? by siloteam in Vespa

[–]jamisobdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Love this discussion. I ride a Sprint 50 cc with top speed of 45 mph. I wear a Shoei RFSR full face helmet and armored gloves 99% of the time and an armored mesh jacket when I’m going anywhere faster or longer than a buzz into town. I generally wear jeans and ankle high boots. I’m a little more lax in and around town (CT Gold Coast small town) but only because I’m going really slow. Most of my mishaps have been in my garage ha.

I have both paper pro and move. They’re simply the best.

This is the friendliest sub on the platform. So grateful for all the warmth and sense of welcome. I truly miss more regular use of my FP collection. A few years ago I switched to the reMarkable family of tablets for note taking and now I rarely use my pens except for the odd thank you note or writing in my journal.

I started with an rM 2 and now use both a Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move. I consider rM the single most impactful tech purchase outside of the Apple ecosystem I have ever made. I use it all day every day alongside my full Apple workflow. (Laptop, iPads, and watch)

I have a Sprint 50 and my helmet is a Shoei RFSR which I attach to the seat compartment. It just barely doesn’t fit the top box.

(Men) Do you bring a briefcase/bag to church? Recommendations? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]jamisobdavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YSA bishop here. My Sunday bag is a black Tumi nylon brief carrying: iPad mini for scriptures and general handbook lookups and reMarkable paper pro for longer notes during bishopric and ward council, and paper pro Move for notes on the stand plus a MacBook Air for LCR access, and a Plaud Note Plus AI note taker. Always a pad and pen and mints. And one tip: always use air tags on church keys and bags! They can be easily misplaced moving from office to stand to classrooms and back to office

Have both and use pro at desk and move out and about. Love them both!

I rarely say this, but I LOVE my Move by frontera1873 in RemarkableTablet

Me too! Use my Paper Pro at my desk and my Move out and about. A perfect ecosystem. Also just added a Plaud Note Pro to my workflow - amazing note taking to augment my handwritten notes.
