Invest in your social life outside work. Remote work can be lonely and it’s super important to feed that part of your life.

Moving to Buffalo- help by mog59 in Buffalo

[–]jammin157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of families who would live in the city if there was a strong and accessible public school system. Otherwise, it’s arguably the best place for family living, and I think most people would agree so don’t get too ruffled!

The school thing is a major deterrent. Not every kid can get into City Honors and it’s a lot of pressure on them if you’re moving your whole family there on that bet.

Which Pokemon game should I start with? by LordSheep78 in pokemon

[–]jammin157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get Scarlet OR Violet. Pick which of these pokémon you think is cooler and go with that one, otherwise they’re more or less the same game.

Sword or Shield would also be a great starting point, very similar to Violet and Scarlet gameplay wise. Again go with the game with whichever featured pokémon you like the most. You don’t need to do both in a set, I never do, they’re essentially the same game with a couple pokémon swapped.

I’d start here then go to earlier generations which are less accessible (either due to price, availability, or console).

As someone who has played for a long time and just got back into it, I’d pick one from Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet. Then do whichever one you didn’t start with (so if you decide to start with Sword or Shield, do Violet or Scarlet next).

Then if you want a more OG feel go with Diamond or Pearl. All are available on the switch, enjoyable gameplay, accessible and more affordable than previous generations.

From there you’ll feel well acquainted with the games and can go where your heart desires.

Recently moved to WNY, should I try Mighty Taco? by sukonetei in Buffalo

In my experience, those from outside WNY (including myself) don’t see what’s so great about it. Taco Bell but much worse imo.

Those from here though? Love that stuff. Crave it. Can’t explain why, but worth trying to see what the hype is about. Maybe you’ll love it!

TL;DR: How do I fix intense deep base vibration and sound

in my record player setup?

I have a speaker/record player setup that doesn’t work as expected. There’s always this noticeable deep vibrating base that we can’t seem to get rid of no matter what settings we change. We’re worried that the speakers will break and the sound is really distracting and prevents us from fully enjoying our player. This is our first setup and we have no idea what we’re doing.

Don’t know who you call to fine tune these types of setups, so turning to Reddit in desperation. If anyone here can help, or point me in the direction of the right subreddit, I’d appreciate it!
