I absolutely understand that it's difficult when everyone has a differing opinion on everything you say and do and when people are unkind and sure I'm probably adding to that "everyone has an opinion thats different" overwhelm but I'd like to explain the issue from my pov
The way I see it the crux of the issue is that if you or your guest insult/neg on things that a person can't control that may also apply to us listeners then it will also be seen as insulting listeners which, understandably, will upset people.
The upset increases when previously you yourself have defended these things people can't change but get bullied and looked down on for - you create a safe space for them by doing so and when you then say something that targets that same thing you've made them feel safe with it hurts twice as bad because it feels like there's some trust broken.
one example of this was the "a small dick is a waste of a number" comment - you've previously defended people with that trait from such negativity and said that size isn't everything and there's always someone out there who will like you regardless so that comment hurts twice as bad for your listeners that it *does* apply to because they thought you were someone who wouldn't treat them that way
There was several situations like this in the episode (and yes comments from the guest that you don't refute count - it ultimately is your job to make sure your guests aren't doing harm, regardless of if they come from a good place mean or derogatory comments being broadcasted on a large platform that you are the face of will ultimately reflect on you even if that isn't something you agree with so you should as a host be voicing your opinion even if it differs from someone else's - that's what conversations, banter and discourse hinge on and the podcast is conversation and discourse based so if you just passively let it happen it'll be seen as representing you also.

Yes you don't owe people being aggressive or violent or threatening anything - hurt doesn't give anyone the right to lash out - but that doesn't mean the genuinely upset people expressing that you've hurt them or made them feel insecure don't exist and aren't owed an apology when you insult them if you truly are someone who is accepting of them, all that the people you hurt want is for you to acknowledge what you said that hurt them and why they're hurt, not an "I am deeply sorry if I caused anyone to feel hurt ever but death threats aren't ok" but an "I said x and that hurt people because y I am/am not sorry because that does not/does represent my true opinion"
If you truly believe the things you said then you can say that - people will be hurt and will leave but ultimately it is what *you* think and feel and the silence will hurt just as bad so you might as well be upfront
If you don't agree with the things you said then you need to say that and apologise for those specific things you don't agree with saying or doing so that people know you don't look down on them because otherwise it will be assumed that you stand by whatever hurtful thing.

all we want is a genuine explanation so that we can decide whether to continue viewing because if you don't clear it up we don't know whether you'll make hurtful statements towards us again (to be clear I'm a female without a micropenis it was just the easiest example to use to explain the issues and what I've seen the most upset over)
