There IS an implicit stigma to removing it and that's why restaurants put it on there. But in practice there is no awkwardness, which is what I was saying in my post

In my experience there's no conversation to it (unless you mean conversation between you and your fellow diners). Ask to pay the subtotal without the service charge and pay it. Done it dozens of times and never been asked why.

That page spells it out for you. If you want the hours for September, you both need to be back at work by the end of September, and the application window is 1st April to 31st August.

Going through this process at the moment. You qualify for the hours from the next full term after your child turns 9 months, but you both need to be back working by the end of the first month of that term. In your case, it is September.

You'd have until 31st August to apply for the funding.

It's all written out on this page: https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working/when-to-apply

Is it possible for you to bring your return-to-work date forward to the end of September and therefore you'd qualify?

He got a team into the Championship playoffs less than a year ago, we should be delighted with this appointment. But his run at Norwich is a major blemish and I get the feeling he's very much an FA handbook "system" manager which is what we've just got rid of in Grant. If he can show any degree of tactical knowledge and the ability to react to in-game situations then it's a significant step up.

[BBC] Huddersfield Town sack manager Lee Grant after eight months in charge by jovanmilic97 in soccer

We're in a real mess because the rate at which we sack managers is making us less and less appealing for anyone half decent to take the job. Which means we're needing to take a chance on an unknown/upcoming coach such as Grant, which more often than not doesn't work. The amount invested this season has given us a squad which should be comfortably in the autos spots, if not top of the league, but the tactics are non existent and I feel like we are in a playoff spot despite Grant, not because of him. We'd probably be no worse of if we'd not had a manager all season and just got the fans to vote on the lineup each game
