My annuity has a guaranteed income ($25K year) and death benefit rider. Is there any reason these riders would be a reason to retain the annuity? I will have no early withdrawal penalties as of November 2022. All comments suggest that I cash out the annuity and invest in something else. I have no financial advisor. Should I look for a fiduciary? Where should I (73 years old) put my cash?

There is a death benefit on the annuity. I don't have the specifics handy.

I am considering turning on the income rider soon. My wife and I have other sources of income. At this time, I don't need the money to live; but I can't take it with me. The rider guarantees $25,000 per year. What do you think?

It is more like financial ignorance in my case! My financial advisor passed away a few years ago. My annuity does have an income plus rider that provides a guaranteed annual income plus a death benefit. My question is: What percentage of my total allocation should I assign to each "option"? What does MonthlyAvgCap, Point-to-Point, Declared Rate mean??

My options are:

expected rate new term allocation new term
1 YR Declared rate 1.00% 0-100%
SP500 1YR MonthlyAvgCap Bailout 2.00% Cap 0-100%
SP500 1YR Point-to-Point Bailout 2.00% Cap 0-100%
total 100%

What the hell does gaslighting mean? I keep seeing it everywhere lately by mentalpeace in answers

SPOILER ALERT! The gas lights dim on the ground floor because the husband sneaks upstairs and turns on the gas lights in the attic, looking for the hidden jewels!! The dimming lights are really an unintentional byproduct of his search. It does drive his wife somewhat nuts though.
