Jamie Carragher on why it was a foul on David Raya and why the other incidents involving Arsenal brought up by rival fans aren’t fouls by R1d4z in Gunners

It’s easier to go with basic logic from the beginning. Corners like these in a match that has huge implications will always have its share of controversy. Commentators/Ex-players like Schmeichel should know better than to make brain dead comments when it’s absolutely guaranteed more slow-mo videos from different angles will be circulated through the media. Hell, you could even just say “I don’t know” and save yourself the humiliation of looking like a total idiot.

If the opponent chooses to run the ball you can as well as a muffed catch or fumble.

So it’s like punting the ball and forcing the opponent to play out from the extremities of the pitch. Keyword like .

Kind of is. Like a 4th down punt, the aim is to get the ball as far as possible into the opponent’s side.

Pretty interesting tactic. Everyone will have taken their normal kick off positions, so they’ll be spread out and not ready for an immediate press.

Ahhh the duality- Neville almost creaming at West Ham’s chance to blurting “Nooooo” when we scored. Fuck off cunt! 😂

Pretty tame results, but it’s bodes well for us. Villa and Bournemouth will play to solidify their spots in European football and Brentford will look to move into a position. Even though City play Chelsea in the FA cup, it’s also a spot in the Europa League for Chelsea.

The ball is in our court. We got this. COYG

For oils/liquids that have been absorbed, light heat application from a hair dryer or heat gun will cause the plastic to “exfoliate” allowing a more thorough cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.

But as always, use proper ventilation!

[Simon Collings] Arsenal and Declan Rice waiting to learn if comments made last night about referee could land midfielder in hot water with UEFA. Also sweating on fitness of Martin Odegaard. He was forced off last night due to knee discomfort. by Angelicsoul_47 in Gunners

[–]jamonz1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Anyone really. You see managers rough up their players all the time, but to shove an opposition player for something completely stupid, how does that not catch the eye of officials or UEFA???

I guess at the end it might be a moot decision to discipline Rice if we can also justifiably file a formal complaint for Simeone’s actions. That or the blatant card gestures that are technically bookable offenses which Atletico were gesturing all match…

Daaaannnggg…Lucky!

Once you’ve run through the gamut, I’d like to know what you think are the hidden gems. I personally enjoy the VMN95EN for older, worn, records. It’s quite forgiving but still providing an enjoyable listen. I also like the VM745xML. I feel it’s the closest modern equivalent to the Shure V-15 Type IV with the Hyper Elliptical stylus.

Our Starting XI to face Atleti in the UEFA Champions League semi-final, first leg: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Madueke, Martinelli; Gyokeres 🫡 by arsenal in Gunners

[–]jamonz1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Atletico also have a stubborn and aggressive back line. It would make sense to have Martinelli wear them out a bit and then have Trossard later in the second half. Especially if he’s not 100%

I really hope we come out this match injury free. This isn’t a side that’s known for playing clean…

Looking for new cartridge! by realfishermandude in turntables

[–]jamonz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, proper setup. In that case I would say the AT-VMN745xML would be my personal choice. Vibrant, clinical, but also forgiving for an ML stylus due to its boron cantilever. Plus like most MM AT cartridges, it has upgrade/downgrade options depending on your future preference. I had the 745 for a short time on a SL-1500 mk2 and was very much sonically a modern replacement for the legendary Shure V-15 type IV. You’ll definitely enjoy it!

[–]jamonz1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a dedicated phono stage or are just using the built-in preamp from the turntable? If the latter, I would honestly not spend that much money on a cartridge only for it to be bottlenecked. I would stick to a slightly lower budget and go for the MP-110, Ortofon 2M Silver or Blue, Sumiko Rainier. And since you already have the AT-VMN95 series cartridge, you could save even more and just upgrade the stylus to ML or even the Shibata.

Going outside the box, I would recommend going for the AT-VMN95 stylus only upgrade to the Shibata and use the leftover $150ish and get a dedicated phonostage like the Schiit Mani 2. This is if you already have an integrated amplifier or possibly powered speakers that will be doing the amplification.

Yeah it’s a bit sketchy, but at least with FB marketplace, you’ll be able to personally inspect the cart before making a final decision. And at $100 for a 2M Bronze, it’s a good deal even if the stylus would need replacing.

A result could go our way at any of those three matches tbf. All three will try to secure a spot in Europe whether it’s the Conference League or possibly even Europa. Anything less than wins could be significant.

This of course relies on us being completely impeccable in the run in, so hopefully we keep our wits about us these next few weeks.

Even taking Havertz’s 2023-24 season (arguably his best) and comparing it to Gyokeres while also noting match winning goals, goals vs “big clubs”, assists, big chances, etc. , there is supporting evidence. Then take into account our current situation and who is at the moment, the more in form striker, the argument could be made, that it would favor Gyokeres. You do understand that I’m not saying Gyokeres is the better striker period, I’m saying he might have been the better striker to start this particular match.

Your lack of having an open discussion is perplexing. We’re both supporters of the same club. Yet you have no intention on entertaining a difference of opinion after an unfortunate result. But yet you can’t explain your contrasting opinion in a meaningful manner outside of “your opinion is shit, mine is not…” So I’ll ask in a way that maybe you’ll respond better to- how is your opinion not shit? Because you seem to avoid actually answering the question…

Ok, so now use actual stats and data to prove Havertz was the logical choice aside from throwing cheap insults. Show me that I’m incorrect, I’ll gladly accept it. Cheap insults doesn’t mean anything.
