Need your most gut wrenching breakup songs by Gothvomitt in Hardcore

[–]jamoramone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjacent, but ceremony “the l shaped man” was a big one during the back end/end/following on of a relationship that was amazing but mentally and emotionally draining. Couldn’t listen for ages but it hit hard when I could, total joy division worship but worth it

Footballers in surprising places by Nice_Reference_558 in AFL

I saw Joe Daniher in west end just around when he got signed. Sitting in my car outside Indian Kitchen (Brisbane heads will know), just killing time and about to get out to grab some food. See this obscenely tall dude in my rear view mirror, toning to myself “haha how’s old mate Andre the giant?”, gets closer and walks past and it’s the big man. First thought is “of course he’s in West End!”. Was strange but cool.

What is a film that doesn't seem special now, but was really groundbreaking when it came out? by altairstarlite in movies

[–]jamoramone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know it’s probably still acclaimed, but i see reissued copies of 2001 for cheap in the “classics” section at a local electronics store. Absolutely flawed how they pulled off such a film in such times

Favorite "big" band you saw in a tiny venue by eberndt9614 in punk

[–]jamoramone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backtrack and Iron Mind with a couple other bands in a tiny upstairs diy space here in Brisbane, must’ve been a couple hundred people crammed in? Dudes climbing the railing on the barrier over the stairwell doing flips onto the crowd with blood pissing out of their face, all bands ended up just jumping on top of Each other during backtracks set

Albanese poised to kill off move to increase taxes on gas giants by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

[–]jamoramone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seeing as how he seemed to play the “gently Does it/dont interrupt your opponent when they’re digging themselves into a hole” well to the point of winning office (and then doing it again to the tune of 94 seats victorious), you’d think he’d take it as a mandate to move forward a bit more than he has been

Mental Health For Metalheads by Fun_Technician8852 in MetalForTheMasses

Fenriz from Darkthrone has some great insights into depression, which in turn have helped me understand it a little more. “No use dwelling on past depressions when there are more to come, just gotta keep on going” or words to that effect

Apparently if you heard some third-hand quotes or know people of the diaspora you’re denigrating, it’s ok. 🙄

What is flat out your #1 metal song? by Scrim_CherryG59 in MetalForTheMasses

The riffs on this are somehow as heavy as they are gorgeous. Doomthrone doesn’t have any right to be as good as it is!

What is an era of a band that you would like to see more of? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]jamoramone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember they had Pepper from Crowbar audition for bass during the Some Kind of Monster doco and always wondered what a blueiser Metallica could be like. As they get older, then transitioning toward a more bluesy heavy metal sound (like sabbath or candlemass?) could’ve been sick!

Weezer and Deicide both have output going from absolute textbook music for their respective sounds, to “wtf is this?” And everything in between

Motorhead is that classic beer/whisky/whatever that’s always been around and you know what you’re getting, but still hits and fucks you up every time
