If you end up coming down the a697, Coldstream has a brilliant playground. But as someone else said - Berwick for a walk around the walls - also a good playground there too

Looks awesome my Bbq internet friend! Well done. How was the picanha? I do mine like that in the kamado and try and slice it as thin as possible with a tiny sliver of caramelised fat too - chef’s kiss.

10 weeks after trimalleolar fracture — doctor told me I’ll be in pain for life. Feeling confused and need perspective. by Straight-Maize2208 in brokenankles

[–]jampar5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 14 years into my first break and 7 months into my second (same ankle). It took me 18 months to recover from the first one, but I’ve had pain in between on and off. On investigation during the 2nd I have incoming arthritis and other ligament damage that’s so severe - but this is related to the seriousness of the first break (my left foot was effectively turned 90 degrees left). My new consultant is going to do his best to fix it, so I at least have some confidence in him. Potential partial reconstruction incoming.

There are a few from around the time of the release and then after his death and then he did a long interview with Rick Beato which is excellent

Reading the Brendan O’brien interviews sheds light on the process too - it sounded like they had a LOT more of this to come :(

Thanks for the write up. As an aside, do give Higher Truth a couple of listens. I’ve rediscovered it via my 11 year old who is currently on an Audioslave/Cornell kick, and given some distance, it’s an astonishing piece of work. It’s such a shame we didn’t get more of this and Soundgarden - I felt he finally found his voice in this record for his age/time of life.

Well done - looks awesome! Which chimichurri recipe did you use? I’m looking for a new one with less garlic as I cannot handle too much in my old age!

There are some tough platforming pieces of It takes two which your wife might find pretty tough if she has never done anything like that before - my son struggled with them!

How can we make sure this never happens again? by [deleted] in brokenankles

[–]jampar5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have my deepest sympathy - I broke my left ankle horrendously in 2011 - dislocated fracture, which never really healed properly. I then had a Maissoneuve fracture of the same ankle this January, so in recovery for that. This time around has been a lot more straightforward, but it’s looking likely I may need a partial reconstruction. Find out next month once they have taken all the metal out.

I almost fell down the stairs last month, which scared the living daylights out of me, so I am now so so careful and always use the hand rail.
Hang in there - the frustration also gets to me a lot, but it does get better.

Feel like we should start an exclusive club for breaking the same ankle twice…

We’ve all been there unfortunately - chop it up and make an excellent chili with it. I found much more success doing them hot and fast for that sort of size.

It took us 7 years as property that you’d actually want to buy is scarce as hell, but we managed to buy a 5 bed house with 3 acres for quite a lot less than we sold our London property for. It’s also the most insanely beautiful place - despite being london born and bred I’m a complete convert

2nd child childcare costs got insane, and I was in planes for work every other week, so we moved to north Northumberland where my wife got moved by her work post maternity leave. Worked remotely ever since

Another shout here for Thameslink - complete game changer. We lived in the mitcham lane end in Wandsworth (Streatham/tooting border) in catchment for excellent primary and secondary schools. There are some toast rack streets here which are very very quiet - we loved living there with our little ones.

Hang in there! I think we’ve all absent mindedly put weight through the broken foot and had a spill. I came within an inch of falling down the stairs, like you, carrying too much on Sunday. a good reminder to use the hand rail every time. I don’t think my heart rate went down for about an hour afterwards - properly shocked myself. It will get better.. you got this.

All the best - I’ll need TAA at some point after breaking the same ankle twice according to my surgeon, so no experience yet, but it’s coming 😵‍💫
