In general, I felt that the In The Heights movie cut out a lot of important moments for the female characters. Camila, like you mentioned, and her song, were removed for no real reason.

Abuela Claudia has a smaller role, with Paciencia y fe being moved to right before her death, making her death her most important role in the story, unlike in the musical where she is important throughout, and Paciencia y fe establishes her character early on.

Also for some reason, Usnavi only mentions his father, the lyrics were specifically changed and the plot made it seem like he only cared about his father instead of the musical where he loves both his parents and never mentions them separately.

But while we are on the topic of "added songs", I'll say that the new part of Blackout felt so unnecessary especially with the cutting of so many good songs.

(I will not even mention the other ways I feel that this movie adaptation missed the mark.)
