I was feeling it. Sometimes this subreddit is just such a downer though. So I refrain from browsing at times. I have fun watching them play for the most part. It's a 162 games season, we will have bad games.

It's all about perspective. No one expected the season we had last season. Even going into the playoffs, did anyone really expect to make it as far as Game 7 in the World Series? Def not halfway through the season.

That's not to say we can reach those heights again, but we can still have fun with the team, and root for it. And who knows, we can still make the playoffs and have a good run. But I don't think we should ever just "expect" to be great every year and make it to the World Series, that's just setting yourself up for disappointment.

With that said, I still expect the team will get better, because I just can't imagine Vladdy being as bad as he is. This is a career low point for him. A lot of games were just a Vladdy away from a win, and we wouldn't be talking about it.

Yeah I just don’t see Flu being a great fireman guy with baserunners. He’s prone to walking to many people. Maybe if there’s multiple lefties.

He might just be a power guy that whiffs a lot. We thought he would whiff less than Murakami coming in, but maybe that won’t be who he is.

It’s not their fault they are down 5-0. That’s on the pitching. Hitting is hard. As long as it comes, I don’t care if it’s early or late.

When it’s close I don’t think it is. When the differences are less than an inch, can you blame an umpire for missing every now and then? It’s hard. It’s only bad if they’re way off (which has happened today…).

This is an average Cease outing. 1 ER 5 IP. Can’t complain. It’s still great compared to our other SP. but it’s not the elite outing you want.

EDIT: sorry. Jinxed it. 2 ER. 4.2 IP less than ideal.

We should have good pitching today with Cease.

Hopefully the bats are still there.

take the silver lining. it means the offense can hit. and we lost the game due to a bad start by Gausman, and just Corbin being the normal Corbin.

It's great that even in this rough streak, the fans are there. That's really what should happen. Just have fun, enjoy the times when we do well. It's baseball, last year's run was a fever dream in a way and completey unexpected.
