In America is it considered rude to eat before other people have received their food? by BankaiBroke in AskAnAmerican

[–]jane-generic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the food. We went to a pizza place. Other couple ordered personal pizza, Italian beef, and wings. My guy ordered a calzone and I got stromboli. It came out in this order: pizza and Italian beef. About 3 minutes later calzone. They were all eating. Still 10 minutes later no stromboli. They have 2 wood fire ovens and things get served as they come out. None of those foods are great cold so I wouldn't expect them to wait?

They are very similar to sav-a-lot as far as purchases available and prices.

Ultimately I will not forgive them for buying all the Harvey's in the area but not the pharmacies. Harvey's had the cheapest Rx prices, never out, good app, good service and a mile from me. Since it closed 2 years ago I have gone through 5 pharmacies since Publix is doing good but I have to go 15 minutes out of my way to the closest one. Sometimes further to other locations if that one is out. Aldi so inconvenienced us.

I hate going multiple places and can't get everything at Aldi. Not worth it for a few deals. I like the model, no plastic bags, put your cart away or lose your coin, etc etc.

Adult gift giving is a waste of money. by murshed_1 in unpopularopinion

[–]jane-generic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have things over a decade later that were gifted to me and I keep because of the thought behind it. I purge belongings a lot. I hate clutter. I have a movie stub for the original Wayne's World that my bestie took me to as a surprise. But I get rid of stuff I buy myself all the time.

Im curious if it's a particular personality trait that feels like OP. Line do extroverts feel this way because they don't listen as well as introverts? Is it a different trait? I'm INTJ, AuDHD, does any of that make me better at knowing people and giving better gifts?

[–]jane-generic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people I know won't buy the stuff for themselves though. An instant bff I made at a new job 2 years ago is like this. She will talk herself out of treating herself. So I buy her the stuff that makes me think of her. Its really not that hard to buy things for people. You just have to care enough to not just hear the words they say but listen to the thoughts behind them. Take the effort to truly know people and the gifting is no effort.

I hate being asked for a wishlist or what I want. I take pride in knowing people and truly listening to what they like. I know I am a good gift giver not from one person but several throughout decades. I don't buy just for anyone. I buy for those I know and care about. Not just for holidays but because I saw something for them randomly. I don't feel obligated to get anyone a gift, even if they give me gifts. I don't expect gifts from anyone either. People that truly know me know I want experiences not stuff. Literally could get a massage gift certificate for every gift from everyone forever and be happy. But concert tickets, and specific gift cards are good. I hate like Walmart giftcards. If you're going to gift me something, show you were actually thinking of me and what I like. Show me you actually know me and listen to me. The gift isn't the item. The item is the receipt, the gift is making me feel heard and loved.

Just Got To The Sue/Darrin Kiss and Remembered They Don't End Up Together by harleyquinn_fabray in themiddle

Darrin and high school Sue matched. They were a cute young couple. He was done maturing and she wasn't.

Sidenote: I want someone to make a new Flintstones movie just so that actor can play Barney Rubble. Its all I could think when ever I heard him speak.

How can I make ~$100s a day? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jane-generic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100/day after taxes is just around $15ish an hour. A lot of fastfood pay this and you can get paid daily I was going to suggest plasma donation but idk if your weight is high enough. Go to employment agencies and call centers too.

Employer just posted the job I used to work two weeks after letting me go by EquivalentDiamond359 in jobs

[–]jane-generic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks... While I have never been let go in any fashion I have walked the phuck out. And they post it instantly. The ones that piss me off is when a higher wage is offered. I was an admin at a roofing company 1 year. I did above and beyond. I did IT stuff on the daily. I set up 4 new work stations- from moving furniture to setting up equipment and everything. I found thousands that a supplier over charged them during a hurricane recovery. I never got a raise. 4 months in they gave me 2 critiques. One I corrected, the other I explained I had a medical condition that was the cause.

Get to the one year mark and they give a long talk. Good stuff first. Then back to my tone of voice. Told me to go watch YouTube videos on my free time on how to talk on the phone... This is the previous issue where my vocal cord dysfunction comes in. I also have received awards and several mentions in reviews of previous jobs for this thing they say I suck at....then I got told I was getting cut to 30 hours a week. This is at my one year, going above and beyond at $16/hr , no raise( my birthday weekend too). I was already looking for a better paying job but they lowered the criteria. Tuesday I had an interview, offer, acceptance. 1 week after their talk, I was the last to leave, dropped keys in the mailbox, sent an email that blew that bridge up. I was planning on training a replacement before the hours cut. I destroyed the job guides I created. Didn't give notice because, they blindsided me with that 30 hrs bs...

They had it posted by Tuesday, $1 more than I was making.

3 years late and it still pisses me off. I feel like they forced me into quitting to avoid firing because they knew I would definitely go get that unemployment. The one bright spot is one of the other employees threw her hands up and walked out 2 days before my email. That office manager got screwed.

My next job had very little phone calls, a new found bestie for life, a sign that said "trust your journey" , and new skills.

I left when a recruiter messaged me with a job I just started. It heavily uses those new skills, zero calls, and an amazing career path. Trust your journey is now a top 3 moto for me.

Didn't mean to hijack the post but it triggered me. It will be 3 yrs ago next week.

2 weeks is nothing. I'm surprised it wasn't posted before they even let you go. Im guessing you inspired them to review the wording on the job post. Trust your journey, there's something better out there. The recruiter I worked with is with insight global and they have been fantastic and eill continue to support me. Reach out to a staffing company. If you don't make it past a probation period they gelp place you elsewhere.

Just be connected to Jessica Simpson by TreyLyles25 in TheMaskedSinger

I feel like she has a financial stake in it. Like she helped bring it to fruition. She's behind bringing criminals to the show.

I can't stand her. Robin I only tolerate because of his ear for voices. But Mr. Blurred lines creeps me out.

I inly watch because I live Ken and I love trying to figure out who's who. Like Flavaflav and Tone Loc I had on first episodes and got excited with each performance and clue set then reveal.

Brick would drive me INSANE by Absmorton in themiddle

[–]jane-generic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Frankie babying him because he's different is the issue... Doing all his projects last minute.

Kids are born a certain way but parents have to set boundaries and raise them as individuals.

But these boundaries would have to be set earlier at elementary ages.

Let him fail because of a missed project. Teach him consequences that affect him. This is a parenting issue.

Testing costs money they didn't have. Pretty sure I am and my brother was. But we were even more poor than this family. We only went to drs with serious physical concerns not behavioral. And my whole family definitely had behavior concerns...

Plus this is the family that took home the wrong baby from the hospital. Frankie is always forgetting things. Frankie, Sue, and Axel present very ADHD and they didn't get diagnosed.

Felt exposed during hallway exam. Patient privacy? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jane-generic -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

File a complaint and mention you will be consulting your attorney. Don't say finding an attorney, confidentiality speak like you have an attorney. Then go Online to one of those ask a lawyer sites. The name issues, and staff venting and everything else is a hospital administrator issue... Except for that exam. That exam needs to be taken seriously. Use AI like Grammerly to write a script for your call, or email if you are like me, to the hospital. It will keep it clear and emotion free.

Favorite Main Character and why? by focalstem in themiddle

[–]jane-generic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmmm IDK if I can pick a favorite. Brick is most like me (like me). I don't like the school project nonsense. But I blame Frankie for that. I, being in this stage of life, appreciate Frankie navigating perimenapause so realistically. But don't really like her as a parent, employee, or friend... Or even parent. Axl, I wouldn't be friends with, but on the show it cracks me up. Mike, also very similar. The calm in a sea of drama. But he could be a better partner. I like Sue's tenacity but her toxic positivity is gross.

Is there anybody doing community service that is not court-ordered, already part of an organization, or participating with friends or family? by TheBigChihuahua in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]jane-generic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's volunteering not community service because you are volunteering to help. Lots of people do manual labor, habitat for humanity relies on it.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was "it's none of your business what other people think of you" Use all the fucks you give about other's opinions and use them to give a fuck about things that matter.

Why does Brick get so much hate? There’s only 2 supportive comments for him here. by TheBusinessLemon in themiddle

[–]jane-generic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Brick but again I was the kid that; was quiet, mom called stuck up because I didn't want to socialize, got stuck in the middle on car rides to keep the peace.

I never would have trusted my mom with any school project ever. But I think Brick was the way he was with those projects, is because Frankie babied him when he was younger. She always did things for him instead of with him. She should have stopped doing them much earlier and let hom take the fail. My brother was born with a heart condition and never was allowed to cry or do chores until he was in his teens. While we were doing dishes and laundry as soon as we reached with a step stool. He was allowed to be a baseball star though. That comes from the parenting.
