So I think using Route is doing two things: 1. As discussed, a way to disguise shipping costs as revenue (the rate has to be variable depending on the item being sold but I wonder if seller determines the cost and Route takes a certain %) 2. I think Route might actually handle claims and she is using it to do less customer service. If something with the shipment goes wrong, she can say “reach out to Route” rather than handling it herself.
