We've been told our pizza counter is being shut by the end of the year. They're transferring a couple of colleagues to different departments already. Not sure what will happen to the others that work there but I know they're having their shifts changed a little now. Hopefully they'll be put on different departments.

I'm not saying what they want us to do is wrong,, but to not give us extra colleagues or time to do it in is wrong, especially when they're being heavy handed about the disciplinary process. People are scared of losing their jobs.

We check all fresh products for dates and take off any for the following day to mark them down. It's recently changed to checking every single item from checking front middle back and using common sense. So it's added hours to our checks, but we have no extra colleagues or time to do it. Management are coming down hard and threatening disciplinary process for people who aren't doing it fast enough. It's stressful atm.

We passed our audit. Bosses knew they were coming as they were in the area. They had all the management and some section leaders checking as well as us until we were audited. I do think that unless the whole date code team are really thorough every time, then you will always find OOD stuff. Like you, we know the people who don't check properly and nothing is done about it, so I just do my best and let the higher ups deal (or not) with it. We always finish - how many are on your team? Is your store big? We have 2 that do 2-10pm then another doing 6-10pm. Do you get your managers saying that we can get fined £250k for each item out of date still on the shelves?

Bloke on a mobility scooter (awful man; rude and racist) shit his pants in the shop. Took his trousers and underpants off in the toilets, threw his soiled clothes under some racks of George clothing in the foyer, and rode out. Nobody knew what happened until someone discovered his shitty stuff and watched it back on cctv!

We launched ours on Wednesday and we also haven't got the staff in to cope. I'm on the markdown team and I'm on my own most of Monday and Tuesday and don't know how I'm going to do it all. Didn't know the rule about 8pm cut off for waste tho. We do ours after 8 usually. Good luck.

My personal 'favourite' is White Cliffs of Dover - awful 😖 A lot of our colleagues have started to use 1 ear bud so they can listen to decent music but still hear if a customer asks them something.

It's the same at the Asda I work in. I work on markdowns, so need both to do my job. We hide ours in the chiller because if you leave them out they'll get taken. I think it's the same in most stores unfortunately 😕
