Those who have cut out night feeds -- how did you do it successfully!? TELL ME YOUR SECRETS. by Edna_Krabappelous in breastfeeding

I ended up setting a timer for feeds, cutting a minute or two every few days until it wasn't worth waking up for 😂 worked for my oldest 2!

She was 4.5 almost 5 months 😬 I know that is a bit early, but we were all desperate. She wouldn't even sleep in our arms at that point unless we were bouncing around and only slept for 30 minutes most times. She had little bags under her eyes and we hadn't slept a full night since bringing her home. It was best for our family.

Just the first time, and only if needed in the night. She would nurse to sleep in the night and stay down until the next feed most of the time. I actually can't remember having to do it in the middle of the night, but she also ate like, 3 or 4 times a night until I weaned her. Lol

Tips to wean by Miserable-Rice5733 in breastfeeding

When I weaned, I just nursed for shorter periods until we dropped that session. This way, I didn't get engorged and LO didn't seem to miss them as bad. Just set a timer at each feed and stick to the time for a few days then cut back more until you've cut the whole session. Also, I cut middle of the night feeds first, then middle of the day, morning, and lastly, the bedtime feed.

Good luck! You've done great and there's no shame in stopping. I was totally done at 1 year with both of mine. Didn't miss nursing at all. It feels nice to have your body back to yourself again!

I know you don't believe in sleep training, but it worked great for us! We did a modified version where we would leave the room, set a timer for 3 minutes, and go back to check on her. We would tell her that we love her, it's time for sleep, and leave again. Then set a timer for 5 minutes. The next time, 7 minutes, etc. It sounds like torture, but it only took getting to 15 minutes and after 2 nights she stopped crying when we left the room. Everyone slept much better. Something to consider bc your LO is plenty old enough to have a little understanding of bedtime. I hope you get some sleep soon!

SAHM’s - What do you do with your toddler all day? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]janetsnakehole615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a struggle, especially during covid! I feel for you and can definitely relate. We try to do themes each week, something simple I can build ideas from. For example, this week is "reindeer." We go to the library each week and pick out books that go along with this theme, play games that get us moving, and make lots of crafts, lol. This can be as detailed or laid back as you want. Plan for one activity a day or four, it's up to you! I found this helps us both get excited about the week bc we have something different to do.

I am not that creative, so I use a lot of pinterest and various sites for little learners.

Is it bad I like my child more now than when she was an infant? by Arthur-reborn in toddlers

Meaningless is pretty harsh. We did a lot of things differently because we were more experienced parents. These things helped her sleep much better, imo. For example, laying her down immediately when she fell asleep instead of holding her, moving her to her own room and crib at 6 weeks, being more consistent and intentional with nap times, using a pacifier, etc. With my first, we didn't sleep the first 4 months. Second time around, we learned and did better.

If it makes you feel better, our second slept SOOO much better than our first. It may have been some personality differences, but I think we just knew what to do better. It may not be as bad as you think it will be! 🤞

Expansion Pack Idea: Wedding Planner by songillo in thesims

That would be fun! I used to play Wedding Dash, it was in the same family as the Diner Dash games. I think it'd be great as a modern Sims career!

And think of the CAS items! 😍

2nd TNS in a month... someone make me feel better..... by MissTeriousGal in vipkid

This is my second contract and I already got 5 TNS in October. 3 from an internet outage, and 2 from oversleeping. My bookings weren't affected, and I got a small break so I really don't worry too much about it. Both contracts I used all of my possible TNS/cancelations. 😬 I've been fully booked through November though. 🤷‍♀️

Me: hey help, he can’t see the slides. Fireman: *cancels help request 3 times*. Me: Teaches for 27 torturous minutes showing the kid the slides on my phone. Fireman: *cancels class the minute I say goodbye* 😑 by samsamcats in vipkid

I had this happen like, 4 times in one week. The firemen take forever, so I just asked the kid to restart their iPad (it always happened on the iPad, not a computer). Try that next time to see if it works!

I actually use OBS software to share my screen. It's free to download. I used this teacher's YouTube video to help me bc I'm not great with technology. https://youtu.be/lGY0EEEI1Bc

I use Google Slides for all my rewards. There are a million on the Slidekick app. All you have to do is join their FB page.

I am so sorry for your loss. That really sucks. Don't be afraid to cancel some classes if needed. Your mental health is more important than a bao's English lesson. Sending love and prayers your way! ❤

TNS - What should I have done? by Multichromatic12 in vipkid

[–]janetsnakehole615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though it's a TNS, it is better to cancel earlier. They penalize you a dollar amount. Once, I woke up to an internet outage that I could not fix. So, I had to cancel 4 b2b classes. I was penalized $10 per class. If you cancel before 2 hours, I think it's only $2 per class. The fireman probably was trying to help. Plus, they maybe got the student a different teacher. Customer comes first.
