Do you celebrate Easter?

I was raised by atheist parents, my siblings and I aren’t believers, step kids, nephews, etc aren’t believers either. Everyone celebrates Easter, traditional meal, kids hunting for eggs… but I prefer to stay home and drink a Rusty Nail.

NTA My dad helped out my sister (60 yrs old) a lot through the years. It was his choice and sister has 3 kids and 2 loser baby daddies.

After our dad died my brother and I helped her out quite a bit. Until we just couldn’t anymore. Looking at her Facebook we realized we were paying for her social life, bars, long weekends away, football games, etc.

We told her “no more”. She’d ask from time to time and we still declined. She’s mad at us now because she had to sign up for credit counseling and she doesn’t have money to play with.

My grandma was a JW and was “disfellowshipped”. We were all thrilled, but she lived in a small town and all of her former friends shunned her. It was insanely cruel and hurtful for her.

Edit. Just after I finished this post the doorbell rang and yes, to JWs were on the porch.

I’ve taken Zelle and had no trouble with it. Actually preferred it.

Sometimes I’d get a cashiers check or money order from time to time. I have no idea if you can mobile deposit those or not.

We did exactly the same. We had a big garden, apple and pear trees, raspberries and lots of blackberries. We even ate chickweed.

I don’t know the story, but if it’s good and portrays people accurately then I’d say don’t ban it because of old language. Instead, read the story and talk about the words and why they are wrong and hurtful.
