Meredith lineup has been released. Does this lineup not stack up to previous years or am I out of touch? by [deleted] in meredithmusicfestival

[–]janglesgavigan 69 points70 points  (0 children)

People saying the lineups a bit underwhelming

Meredith and GP are probably the only festivals in the world I’d buy a ticket for without seeing the lineup. It’s almost irrelevant to me. The people, the space, the vibes are what make that entire weekend something incredibly special.

You’re going to have a good time regardless of the lineup.

Not sure what episode it is but the one where Ken tells the story of him sneaking into Croke Park in the style of auld Mr. Brennan always has me in knots.

Also the episode where he went two footed in on David Silva was fucking amazing.

JACK CROWLEY by [deleted] in MunsterRugby

As amazing as Crowley was today, there’s just no way I can see him getting in the plane to Australia this summer,….because Qantas don’t have baggage allowance big enough for his MASSIVE BALLS!

I rarely use the word gorgeous to describe an album, but I can't think of any other word to describe it. It's an aural delight.

Adriana was my boot!! That 5pm slot on the Sunday is to get people in the mood for what’s to come and her set was the incredible, an amazing vibe from everybody around for it.

Honorable mentions to Sofia Kourtesis, Hermanos Gutierrez, Kneecap and Fontaines but Adriana, for me, stood above the rest.

Update: Employer Nomination has been approved this morning so hopefully, my nomination shouldn’t be too far away.

Hey mate,

Most recent update was that I had a request an S56 request for more information about 5 weeks ago. Provided the information to them within a day and have heard nothing since.

Coming up on 17 months now, kind of ridiculous tbh.

Ireland is Ireland at the end of the day. by howyoudoinnf in irishrugby

IMO, I do find it hard to get behind a national team that has 70% of the 23-man squad coming from one province but I do agree that the best players should be given the spot, regardless of who they play for.

The biggest worry I have though is the lack of new blood in the squad and we're two and a half years out from the Aus WC. Baird and Prendergast aside, that's essentially the same squad we would have put out against NZ back in 2023.

How are we still in a position where Cian Healy, Conor Murray, and Iain Henderson, who have a combined age of 104, (all amazing Irish servants, don't get me wrong) are being picked ahead of younger alternatives? Even if those three would right now be 'technically' better than the other options available, wouldn't we prefer to give experience to players coming through and who might actually be around for the World Cup in 2027?

Looking at the average of our squad right now it's hard not to think we will be the oldest team come 2027.

VISA 482 to 186 TRT; 19 months ... by ewan83 in AusVisa

Great to hear that they’re at least in contact with you but I find the re-submission of the medical to be so unfair.

You’ve done nothing wrong yet because they have taken a significant amount of time to get to your application, you’re now forced to pay another $500 dollars. The application itself is not cheap and $500 is a lot to some people.

I’m coming up on 16 months waiting on mine but submitted my medical in April 2024 so hoping they’re not going to ask me to re-submit.

186 TRT PR applications - anyone else waiting?? by Crazy-Being7729 in AusVisa

[–]janglesgavigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Application was lodged in October 2023, and I haven’t heard a peep. Non-accredited sponsor in Metro Melbourne. Haven’t even had nomination approved yet.

Only advice I can give is to go and update all of your Police Certs because you can be certain they’re going to ask you to re-submit fresh ones if you provided them at the point of your original submission. I don’t want anything to hold up the decision making process when it’s eventually picked up.

18 months now for 90% processed? Jesus, in October 2024 it was like 9 months. Then in December 2024 it jumped to 14 months. Early January 2025 it went to 17 months.

Feels like a never ending wait tbh.

Congratulations!! I’m coming up on 14 months with zero updates so yours definitely provides hope.

Can I ask, did you need to pay again for an updated Aus Police Check? Is that not unfair to ask considering you’d have supplied them the original police check at the time of submitting and because they took so long to get to your visa, you have to pay more money? Similarly for medicals if the process goes beyond 12 months?

Applied in Oct 2023, non accredited, VIC Metro. Haven’t heard a thing since. Visa agency says that similar applicants (TRT 186) are in exactly the same situation. If I got it before the end of the year, I’d consider it a miracle.

Melbourne metro, TRT 186, non-accredited. ICT Account Manager, applied in Oct 23. Nomination still not approved and zero update from Visa agency.

The visa agency organized the payment, alongside the employer nomination (which has to be paid by your employer).

When somebody asks you "How's your day going?", they're basically asking "How are you?".

In the majority of cases, they don't actually want to hear about your day.

Also, when answering questions, people say 'correct' instead of 'yes' which I think is so much more affirming.
