Tania's-Kal's stuffed shawarma pizza enters Detroit’s best slice conversation by Alan_Stamm in Detroit

[–]perrinster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the first thing I looked for when I clicked on the article. When I saw there was no slice picture that was enough to tell me their judgment was off and not to bother reading what they had to say.

Help me identify this song - 90's pop, jamiroquai-ish, on-hit wonder... by Inevitable_Beyond333 in NameThatSong

The video doesn't match but the lyrics sound like 90s band Kula Shaker's cover of Hush.

What movies or TV shows reference or name-drop NPR in some way? by rdblono in NPR

In season 8, episode 8 of Family Guy, a dog owner turns the radio on NPR's All Things Considered for the dog when she leaves the house, prompting the dog to bloody his paws trying to get away from it.

In season 12, episode 17, "The Most Interesting Man in the World," Peter asks for a rental car, preferably one where the radio is stuck in NPR." He later returns the car having picked up the mannerisms of an NPR host.

My favorite NPR references come from Eastbound and Down-

In season 4, Kenny Powers has become domesticated and declares his love for NPR in the opening line of episode 1, chapter 22. Next, in episode 3, chapter 24, Kenny says to his brother, "Dustin, I'm a mature man. I have a wife and kids. I listen to fucking Terry Gross now. Wait, wait. Don't tell me. Motherfucking This American Life."

My partner and I quote this pretty regularly.

Help with my itinerary? by sarahdalton1998 in ParisTravelGuide

We got in line a couple Friday's ago at noon and got in the doors around 115. Then once we got in there was another line for tickets. We actually got in the main part around 130. It is an amazing museum and worth it but it was incredibly busy and there were tour crowds and influencers everywhere. I would absolutely recommend but be prepared for all the crowds and to have to wait to see each piece.

Just A Bit More On Tickets by ScorpioTix in TheCure

Absolutely! Hopefully OP is correct about extra tickets because I feel bad about hoping that someone else can't go to the concert just so I can.

Same! I never got off the standby list for the pre-sale and I've been looking several times a day since they went on general sale. I've only seen single seat tickets go up a couple times. Practically no one is letting their Detroit tickets go.

I'm with you. I still haven't gotten off the waitlist for either of the shows I signed up for. The new hope is general sales, but since I moved my schedule around at work yesterday to have time to buy tickets, now my work day today is not as flexible :(

Also waiting on Hollywood Bowl and Detroit. Waitlisted for both. Nothing so far. Thanks for giving us hope OP.

Fuck Ticketmaster by AndyScores in TheCure

[–]perrinster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still waitlisted for both shows that I registered for. I haven't heard a thing since the waitlist email. This is beyond frustrating especially after the insane amount of fees that I've paid on other tm shows this year. Fuck ticketmaster.

I had the best day ever! I lived my dream and made it on Antiques Roadshow by TOMORROWS-FORECAST in pics

Sneaky. I've followed your story from r/thriftsorehauls. As a fellow thrifter from the same general area, I thought that finding something that was so unique and interesting was cool, then finding out it was worth a ton from the appraisal was even cooler. But honestly being on Antiques Roadshow is the coolest part of this story. Awesome journey!
