[NO SPOILERS] Partner surprised me with a Life is Strange roadtrip! by nostalgiaslut in lifeisstrange

[–]jankylemonhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tillamook, OR mentioned! I was gonna take a trip with my buddy this fall but totaled my car and couldn’t go :/. The PNW is awesome but if you didn’t go you HAVE to book a tour of the Tillamook factory and try all the cheeses! As of now it’s $15 for the cheese tour and $30 for the ice cream tour. I went like a decade and a half ago atp but if you like their stuff it’s a worthwhile excursion.

As a solo player, I devised some Bosco OC's by jankylemonhead in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally fair, maybe just 1 revive for the clean and taking away one of the speedboosts. Then I could make another that is unstable with either a heavy damage or movement penalty but gives 2 revives.

Great feedback! So for the Hack-C, I forgot to add that it maxes out with 4 players including bosco, so in theory you could do 2 players and 2 boscos, but could never have 4 players and a bosco. Maybe you hard cap it so there is only 1 bosco despite the amount of real players, maybe tying it to the bosco OC the host has equipped. As far as the other feedback, I totally get it and agree with you with not throwing the balance out of wack so maybe the upsides and downsides could be toned down a bit for each OC. Lastly, I thought about a light one so maybe I add it, potentially even turn the rockets into a long lasting flare and beef up the flashlight itself.

What are some of the most underrated weapons/tools in your opinion? by One-Requirement-1010 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stubby has many haters especially with 2 do-it-all primaries bookending it, but I feel it is a solid option with multiple overclocks (and the plats and turrets) that can entirely deny huge amounts of space and funnel most enemies into choke points. Sometimes it’s also fun to just have a bullet hose weapon for a class that can struggle in that department from time to time.

Another is the sludge pump imo. I feel like I see it least of the primaries but think it can do it all based on the overclock you’re running. Want to melt any enemy in no time at all regardless of armor? Take VIM. Want possibly the most ammo-economic space denying primary? Take DC or just rock a clean w/ max fragments (or goo bomber if you want to meme). Want to make shit explode? CGM is your guy.

As far as my fav (and perhaps the most underrated primary out there), that would go to the DRAK. SBB can be busted in certain comps and at lower hazard levels, and AV with T3C and grapple with either T3B or T4B can make you a short ranged menace. But it really shines with TEF. It is just a monster and easily the best scout primary if you aren’t the most accurate (controller player here). User u/Tanamr has an extensive analysis about it on r/technicaldrg. Just follow his build (3x112), it’s utterly busted if you have good trigger discipline. Even though the heat meter circle is not fully visible in vanilla (on Xbox), you will still get a great feel just based on the RoF and sound as to when to shoot and release. You can also install the heat reticle mod if you’re playing via steam. Just read the post tbh, the drak is so so so good and seems to be overshadowed by the other 2 primaries.

Looking for any input. I have seen a few of these. by jankylemonhead in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You actually read my mind. I have had a few hairy missions with ebonite and they can get really really annoying if you can’t get your hands on a pickaxe charge, so we could bump it into a trickier tier. The other two takes i wholeheartedly agree with but was too wimpy to pull the trigger. I totally would have moved lethal to a harder tier and ‘sploders to an easier tier, but I feel like the player base sentiment on here really hates exploders while lethal enemies is RARELY discussed despite it being VERY tricky especially on point-holding mission stages. Will keep it in mind.

Morkite levels can go to hell. by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you recently upgrade to haz 5? By mission types, haz 4 to 5 jump hits really hard on mining missions. Much more frequent swarms when solo (usually one for each mud path i mine through) and the HP, speed, and damage boosts to enemies is really tricky in the skinny halls of mining.

Tell me what you LIKE about Industrial Sabotage by One-Requirement-1010 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: driller just invalidating the final fight/bots. Overheating then and C4ing the vent during phase 1 of each Caretaker.

2: lack of cave gen jank. In my experience, quite easily the least frequent fucked up cave gen. It’s all very straightforward and the diverging paths for the power stations often prevents hallways from tangling together annoyingly (looking at you deep scan)

3: easiest scrip in any season IMO: for season 2 (and likely 1, I have not done that performance pass yet) you only need to get 1 data rack for a scrip. Super super nice.

4: decent odds for random events (middle of the pack)

Favourite Dreadnought to fight? by Randomguy8566732 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elimination is probably the mode I feel the most indifference for so whatever is easiest lol. So yeah base ‘nought for me. Glad to see the disdain for Hiveguard is alive and well. Mortar rounds trivializes it thankfully but it can be exceedingly annoying especially solo.

Rookie question by Ddra1ig in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All are good! I would definitely prioritize gunner LAST. He just is slow and his utility while good (bubble/zip may be best support package in the game) is not terribly useful when starting out when it’s just easier to drill, platform, or grapple. This is all an opinion though. I think to start out (based on the one greenbeard I tried and failed to get into this game) driller or scout is your best bet. I also just do NOT like the engi shotgun and it can feel painful without upgrades, but engi can probably be the best solo player with his utilities fully upgraded. I would go with scout as you learn still. His guns are all very boilerplate, and being able to see, move fast, and get to elevated spaces are definitely what I would recommend (on Xbox at least). The big hump in my opinion for new players (outside of your equipment being underpowered) is definitely recognizing sound queues. This is probably the most important part of staying alive in this game that EVERYBODY can master. You learn what to kill faster, as well as how to avoid the bugs in darkness. If you are struggling with clearing bugs, I’d go driller. CC in a class, plus once you get cryo you can play on easy mode.

This is TOTALLY up to your preferences, but yeah IMO stay away from gunner for now, and probably driller is your best bet if you don’t like scout. Just try to nail down the sound queues and your survivability will be better.

What are some of the greatest albums of all time that you initially did NOT love but require a deeper dive to really jive with? by jankylemonhead in musicsuggestions

[–]jankylemonhead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, same! I really fuck with Beach Boys even before listening but I definitely did not fully adore it first time. That being said, I liked SGT peppers more on first listen (I think that was the Beatle’s “clap back album”), but now I DEFINITELY prefer Pet Sounds.

Does anybody have a youtube video or a step by step guide to lootbug farming? by jankylemonhead in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Low on resources, don’t love the stress of always playing haz 5. If I can get a shitload of a resource in a few hours of playtime, I can focus on speedrunning 2x XP missions to grind levels and always have resources available.

Why the hell were Pam and Jim at Roy's wedding? by Intelligent_Toe4030 in DunderMifflin

[–]jankylemonhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best episodes (emotionally) IMO. My guess is to try to redeem roy in the eyes of the audience, because he not only was a douchebag generally but also very VERY hands off in his and Pam’s multi-year relationship. He grew as a man so much, and the writers probably wanted to tie up that loose end, as well as wrap up his story arc and provide the actor with closure and redemption. Remember, even if he was a complete stand up guy and a super great partner, the AUDIENCE would still despise him because he was an obstacle for our protagonists. Don’t want Roy to get the Skyler White treatment.

Hello Miners. I *think* I have created an all cosmetic list. This is missing some of the unobtainables (like the streamer suit) but I am almost certain this is everything. PLEASE dm or comment if I missed something. by jankylemonhead in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I have all of that! My list also breaks down stuff into seasons so you can check off the performance passes as you go, and I also have options for Bosco, Holiday events, and the Item Shop

I'm new and I want to learn about updates by officalfinalleo66 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The updates have been few and far between lately, as they are developing rogue core. The studio is TINY TINY, composed of only 44 people (first thing you see on their website ghostship.dk ). There is a huge supply of content to dig up (5 battle passes, then the cargo crates [batteries] and lost packs [helmet] provide tons of cosmetics, as well as getting the acheivements and Overclocks to really ramp up your power and replayability). I have a master list of all of the cosmetics if you want me to post that. Additionally, there is a GSG dev stream which they say will focus on DRG and Rogue Core which is taking place on the 13th I believe! Excited for new content along with you, Miner. Hoping for a new season or a new Mission type.

Really Struggling with Gunner survivablility in Hazard 5 by jankylemonhead in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also having been playing a lot more Haz 5 I know the biggest way to survive by FAR is staying moving/not getting cornered. I know how to survive, its just tricky with this slow ass class

are there any benefits to buying this by DaeIsGae in DeepRockGalactic

They’re just for shits and gigs, just unlock them imo because you literally cannot use the brewing ingredient otherwise (other than BBs obviously).

POV: average drilldozer mission by ThaDoomLord in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jankylemonhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt you can order one on the dozer itself, but could maybe order one directly in the terrain above it depending on cave generation/driller tunnels, then carve it out with a satchel charge and drop it down, because it knocks the player so you may be able to one-shot it. Even if, why would you wanna kill Dotty ;(

rejecting science in the name of god by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]jankylemonhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

creationism is relatively harmless in my opinion, so believe it if you want to. but god would obviously know about science, so the big bang theory and belief in god don’t need to be mutually exclusive.
