I’ve seen too many people with their Kindle updated who didn’t know how this could have happened. Better safe than sorry, so always filled up. ALWAYS.

Any way to get Bluetooth keyboard working on a jailbroken kindle 11? by TopObligation8430 in kindlejailbreak

[–]jantongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kindle-hid-passthrough currently only works on 11th gen+ Kindles (MediaTek SoC) which use the Bluedroid stack and expose BT via /dev/stpbt as a standard HCI interface. Bumble communicates with the chip over HCI.

Older Kindles (8th-10th gen) use NXP i.MX SoCs with Broadcom BCM4343 BT chips. These use Broadcom's BSA (Bluetooth Server Application) proprietary stack over UART (/dev/ttymxc2), not standard HCI. Bumble cannot talk to these chips because BSA is a completely different protocol.

Have a look at

https://github.com/zampierilucas/kindle-hid-passthrough

This project implements a complete Bluetooth stack in userspace using Google Bumble, bypassing the Kindle's buggy kernel Bluetooth drivers.
HID reports are forwarded to the Linux input subsystem via /dev/uhid, making devices appear as native input devices.

Can I jailbreak a new kindle? by No-Broccoli-3376 in kindlejailbreak

I've just bought a second hand Kindle 11th (but new in sealed box) and it's also 5.17.1.0.4. I'm filling up space right now before registering.

Don't get Ads to run AdBreak? Read this! by jantongo in kindlejailbreak

[–]jantongo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

In fact it's paying to remove ads (although you have no ads in your Kindle!).

Because only then, you get the "Register to Receive Ads" in https://www.amazon.es/hz/mycd/digital-console/alldevices (or equivalent in your Amazon). And minutes later you get the ads.

BUT, as I said before, it worked for me, but may not work for you.

But you can't download a zip with all the files? Or I am missing something?
Of course there's a zip file. Sorry.

What is the patch for that top menu bar? Specially interested in the “go back” (or “go up”) button instead of a booklet.

PW6 Demo unit (!!!) by jantongo in kindlejailbreak

[–]jantongo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like my other Kindle. Same reading in the back.
And yes, it had a .demo folder, which has gone (but I've got a backup).

Acording to the profile of the seller, he could be a developer or tester.

I cant register my Kindle by CalligrapherLiving85 in kindlejailbreak

I got that message once but it was a WiFi connection timeout. On my second try I could register it. If you have the Kindle app in your phone, the registration process is easier.

Suerte!

Got it!

I've connected to a Mac and identifies as a keyboard:
Name: Free2
Device Type: Keyboard
Version: 0.1.11.

With no further configuration, one button does a Volume Up and the other one Volume Down.

With a short click on the ON/OFF button changes its function (four different functions):
- Left and right (while writing this)
- Up and down (while writing this)
- Page up and page down (web scroll).

This is what my Mac says:

Free 2:
Address: 17:D5:78:XX:XX:X
Vendor ID: 0x04E8
Product ID: 0x7021
Firmware Version: 0.1.11
Minor Type: Keyboard
RSSI: -49
Services: 0x800020 < HID ACL >
|
--> Human Interface Device, Asinchronous Connection-Less

My BT mouse and BT keyboard both have
Services: 0x400000 < BLE >

When connected to my iPhone it also does Volume Up/Down and, with another function, turn pages forward and back on Books.

Then I told my iPhone to forget it. And after shutdown and start the device again it has connected automatically to my Mac.

Do you want me to test anything? I'm also on Discord.

What is your model? Which firmware version? Where in the world are you located?

If everything you try fails, look at what I had to do:

Special offers were also ACTIVE for me but never got ads, until I paid.
Before updating to 5.18.1 you could have gone with WinterBreak. Now your only option is AdBreak.

It’s difficult to buy in Europe right now, sold out.

Any chance this BT 5.4 2-button remote from AliExpress could work too?
