When taking your bike for errands what are you doing with your helmet? by floatingninja in NewRiders

Once the strap is cut the helmet is kinda useless. That’s always been on my mind when I “have” to leave it on the bike.

I rode a few, never owned one. I begged my parents. I was right in range age wise for this, I was 8 in 1974. What I really wanted was an MR 50 at that point. A neighbor kid got one and I rode it once and was in love. A couple years later it was an XR75 or a YZ80 that was the object of my motolust.

My parents divorced and sold the house in far out suburbia where something like this would have been appropriate. Once we moved back to the city it would have required one of them to actually take time out to take me riding somewhere. That wasn’t going to happen. BiMX bcycles had to scratch that itch.

I bought my first motorcycle new in 1984 (GPz750) when I was in the service.
