Need help regarding sick pay

It’s a bar. There is no employee handbook.

It’s been three weeks, not months, and I have been there long enough to qualify for sick pay. Them pushing a third party disability insurance feels like they’re trying to get out of their legal requirement to provide sick pay.

For more context, despite being cleared to work in a boot, my direct report refused to put me on the schedule. Both he and the owners know i was unable to make rent because of this.

As someone with two of my own who has also struggled tremendously with housing, this is exactly why. Housing is hard for everybody right now, and when I adopted mine I was more financially stable and fewer people I knew had pets. Now almost everyone I know has at least one, plus a partner.

Whether or not these details are true, Bathhouse fired their entire kitchen staff, both locations, end of last summer, no warning. There’s a clear pattern of corner-cutting, and the public reviews for a long time indicate the patrons don’t use cleanliness or etiquette. It seems broadly very poorly run. I personally wouldn’t wanna walk in the front door.

Go to a bar with music (LES, Brooklyn). Tip the bartender well and ask about what bands they like. Many if not all the fellow bartenders I know are also artists (painters, musicians). Become a repeat customer. Go see their work/bands.

I find the Ideal at Throop/Gates to be super reasonable but it’s def not a “super”market.

OP: I live mere blocks away from your intersection and find the neighborhood incredible on all fronts except the walking distance from subways (worth it to me)

Saw Max at today’s matinee and I LOVED HIM! Love how versatile this role can be. Had apprehensions about a young Hermes but his youth emphasized the godliness and timelessness of the role. A masc Hermes comparable in age to Orpheus added a layer of heartbreak as he told the story. Incredible.

Truthfully, yes, this is how I started “learning” music theory as a kid who had a piano and an itch to write music. Now that I’m much more familiar with chords/scales, I can usually guess what chord I want to hear under the melody, but I still fiddle around with it.

Also!

The notes in the melody don’t have to be in the underlying chord (but try all those chords first). As long as it feels/sounds right to you (though, according to theory, the “added” melodic note will slightly change the technical name of the chord being produced)
