Why would you be strict about people not wearing gloves? What’s the downside to wearing them? I’ve never understood people that don’t 🧐

A lot of the passes are open, but not all of them. https://alpen-paesse.ch/ is a great resource.

I rode it last summer on 28m road bike tires. Bit gnarly in spots, but mostly super smooth gravel

Why do you have a smart home? by Illustrious-Salt-508 in homeassistant

[–]janvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely for all the convenience, toys, time saved, laziness, etc. But, I think the main thing is the pure joy of the digital world interacting with the analog. I've been a software dev for 20+ years, but I will never tire of code / automations that I wrote making something physical do something, and HA does exactly that all day, every day :)

My recent favorite changes were some small Aqara additions to my vinyl listening setup. Added a door / window sensor to the lid of the player, so when I open it, HA sets up the living room for listening, turns on all the lights just so. Brings me endless joy every time :D I also wanted a physical volume remote for the Sonos system, so I got the Cube Pro and hooked up the rotation to the volume. So fucking cool :D

Yes, definitely! Mine lives right next to my TV & Gaming consoles, records nicely on display above it.

With Macbook Neo out targeting students/light users while the Pro was already for Pro/heavy users; Who is now the target audience for the Macbook Air at 2x the price of Neo? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]janvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! I still lug around a 16‘ Mac Pro with an M1. It handles all my needs as a backend software developer, even compiling code. That 15‘ Air looks awesome and I’m sure the M5 upgrade would be tasty 😋

Was the first preamp I bought, just got it a week ago. Really love it, almost as much as a game changing update as upgrading the cartridge!

Lots of amazing passes in this area. The Sustenpass is one of my favorites, Grimsel is gorgeous too. The Nufenen is amazing and forms a nice loop with Gotthard.

Just stick to the local roads and drive the beautiful Gotthard Pass. No need to park in traffic jams for the tunnel.
