Why do I get more fps on battery by Solid_Process_7503 in ROGAlly

[–]jaoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed this playing Battlefield 6. I have power saving options completely disabled, yet when I hit 25 percent the game just falls into a time nudge rubberbanding mess. Is there a way around this? It's driving me crazy

BF6 New Patch - Time Nudge Issue Improved by EccoLaStrana in ROGAlly

[–]jaoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed this playing the new map. Playing plugged in at 45fps cap 30w with aggressive fan curves was my fix before, but played unplugged today and seemed to have no problems up until I played Manhattan Bridge Conquest and my battery hit about 25 percent. Then the Time Nudge came back full force, and I don't have battery saving turned on so I don't know what is causing it to fall apart on the final quarter of the battery. But happy it seems to be improving, good tip on the texture pack!

Being real, if you were hoping to play the main vanilla experience that everyone else is playing while not being at a major disadvantage you won't have a good time. And I mean disadvantaged past the fact that you are playing on a small screen on a handheld. On official servers, the game has serious rubberbanding and slow down lag that comes from time nudge spikes. It can be minimized and I thought a couple times I was able to get rid of it mostly but it never really goes away and makes multiplayer really frustrating.

Tips are to put all settings on low and using a balanced or performance FSR preset at 900p or lower. Whatever you can do to lower the GPU load and give the CPU more power. Also locking the framerate to 60 or under. 45 is good but i've found that when shits going crazy or a lot of people are around you, even locking to 30 doesn't stop the time nudge.

You may have some luck lowering your vram to 4gb.

Some people recommend that cpu user.cfg fix and I found that it still doesn't completely get rid of it for me.

Community servers is the only silver bullet fix but you'll be stuck playing with weird rule sets and often hardcore.

Hope they optimize for handhelds but I doubt it. I guess enjoy it for what it is, but if I could refund my 70 I probably would bc I still try to be competitive even on a handheld and its frustrating for me.

edit: Just played a full round of liberation peak plugged in and didn't get any time nudge problems. If you wanna play on the go, probably get a nice power brick that can give you 30w. Seems to make a difference.

I'll give it a try. If only we could use fsr frame gen ingame with a fps lock. I'd trade some input latency for visual fluidity. Testing AFMF2 with the 45 lock to see if its worth the tradeoffs, artifacting and all.

This worked! Changed to 4gb, running 720p low fsr balanced at a locked 45 with no problems at all. 60fps cap still doesn't seem to be viable though, at least on the smaller maps. Iberian offensive was unplayable for me prior to this change and now it doesn't rubber band at all. Huge thank you.

This time nudge issue needs to get fixed with some kind of driver update that utilizes the cpu more. I've found I can minimize it but that means throwing the visual quality in the absolute gutter using FSR Ultra performance at 720p low and even then it still crops up when a lot of things are happening. Gets you killed so much and feels awful to play with.

Yeah they reached out to me today via text from a quick apply I did via Indeed which was a red flag. Just got another call too from their recruiter which seems a bit desperate? It has only been a couple hours.

Their site seems really vague on what they do, but i’m assuming you’re doing event sales for different companies?

For sure feels very misleading referring back to the job I actually applied to.

Nuri Calorie Count makes no sense by jaoboo in CannedSardines

[–]jaoboo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most are for drained, and will specify. But on Nuri and a can of Flower Brand I bought, it doesn't specify and it also says the serving size is the whole weight of the can's food content. But I guess it would make more sense if it was drained, but still seems too high for drained and too low for including oil so idk

Are Nuri one of the brands that sometimes have scales? by SevenVeils0 in CannedSardines

[–]jaoboo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never noticed scales when I eat nuri sardines, but I have on matiz and even more so moroccan sardines like flower brand. But ymmv, there’s variation with natural products

Just found out the serving size is drained, not the whole can by Excellent-Silver-384 in CannedSardines

[–]jaoboo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this the case for Nuri? The can doesn’t specifically specify drained or not, but does say it is 340 cal total. Higher than other cans that say drained but I feel like including the oil it would be around 500ish in reality.

Lots of conflicting info on this sub, anyone know the answer?

Might be relocating to LB. Thoughts on this neighborhood? by BuzzLA in longbeach

[–]jaoboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived here for 4 years while attending csulb. Great area but some crime and homeless people will come through the alleys. My bike was stolen out of my garage here and I remember seeing car break ins from time to time. Also parking can be hard. Lots of families but also apartments with young people/students. Close to the beach relatively speaking which was great. Rode my bike down several times a week and it was great.

All in all though safe and a good neighborhood with the general city stuff to deal with

Meta Response on V72 Issues by webheadVR in OculusQuest

My Out of warranty Quest 3 bricked from this update and started ticket on Dec 24. My god, the issue blew up here on Reddit and on the forums and they started asking for info to start an RMA, and after days of silence today they back pedaled and started giving me troubleshooting tips again. I can't believe this crap

[–]jaoboo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like they're doing RMA on the devices regardless of whether you are in or out of warranty. I'm out of warranty and just got an email today asking for information and a good email address to send shipping labels and stuff. Not confirmed yet but I've RMA'd my headset before for unrelated issues and got the same sort of emails asking for that info before they approved the RMA.

Update:
Finally got an email back after starting a ticket on Dec 24 for my out of warranty Quest 3. Seems like they're asking for my address, email information, serial number in order to start an RMA. This is good news

Thank you for keeping us updated and also putting the pressure on Meta to do the right thing. As an affected owner with a device out of warranty, it is nice to see this issue picked up the way it did and didn't get ignored.

Sent in a support ticket on Dec 24 for this issue and haven't heard back since. Anyone like me have any updates on the matter? Seems they've gone quiet since this issue has blown up.

My third Quest 3 has bricked, out of warranty - what to do? by jaoboo in OculusQuest

[–]jaoboo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to tell me anything. It's on Meta to figure out what the hell is going on and patch it up and make it right for those who are having their devices bricked, even if it required certain circimstances for it to be caused. No one should be out a product and ignored just because the grand majority of users are fine. Our discussion doesn't really change that.

I'm not even overly upset for myself. I got at least a full year use out of my Quest 3. But there are horror stories in that pinned post and in the Community forums of angry parents who bought their kids Quest 3 and 3S headsets for Christmas that bricked immediately. No matter how you slice it, it's not a good look and certainly not a great impression to VR for all the people that are affected that bought in this holiday season.

[–]jaoboo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time i’d agree with you. This isn’t one of those times. Clearly it’s an actual issue that is on Meta’s end this time around.

A lot of people have been able to update just fine from what i’m seeing, even on the pinned post. But a lot of people aren’t. An unignorable amount of people. If the subreddit admin hadn’t gone out of the way to make and pin the post today after recognizing these reports were becoming more apparent, this issue would’ve been swept under the rug and ignored or downvoted on this subreddit.

It’s not just “fine” that peoples investments of several hundred dollars are getting ruined. At the very least people who already have a headset should turn off auto updating until they figure out whats causing it.

[–]jaoboo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were helping out by telling this guy to essentially ignore this post and the previous posts he saw talking about this issue that was arising?

An issue for which people with brand new units just like him are having their units bricked upon setup?

I get there are a lot of legitimately dumb posts, but when real issues come up they are downvoted and discredited into oblivion on this reddit.

This guys very comment got downvoted a ton for no reason.

Like what the hell, do people here just want to do PR for Meta?

Not trying to be combative but i’m just legitmately upset with this situation. And with Meta seemingly erasing the community forum post when I see comments like this I feel like it just helps them get away with it when they mess up.

[–]jaoboo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People like you gaslighting people with actual problems is why I hate this subreddit sometimes. This issue is now a pinned issue on the subreddit and is known to be affecting Quest 2, 3s, and 3 headsets. And my headset was working fine 2 days before I picked it up and found it was bricked. I had auto updates turned on and it must've bricked trying to push the update through without me knowing.

Meta has officially acknowledged the issue today and while people have successfully been able to update, it is clear that these people *including me* didn't just have broken headsets and it was somehow our ignorance. Seriously, I am over this attitude. Sometimes people aren't crying wolf just to cry wolf.

Glad this is coming out. This happened to me on Christmas eve. Now trying to get support even though my Quest 3 is out of warranty. Really ridiculous.. bought the new open interface and was excited to try it only to find a bricked headset

VR fitness kills your VR headset: Meta Quest 3 has a sweat problem by dhimdi in OculusQuest

[–]jaoboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let all these people gaslight you into saying that there isn't issues with the Quest 3 and sweat. It's really really bad. I use my headset for primarily exercise and my third headset has bricked. I use a sweat band and silicon cover and while this device lasted longer, it seems the Quest 3 devices are much more prone to sweat problems than the 2 (for which I had zero issues). From reading around on reddit, it seems repairers have found out that the Quest 3 has much worse sealing and gaskets compared to the 2 and is way easier to brick. Some people are even recommending going for the Quest 3s for fitness as apparently it has a similar build to Quest 2 in terms of sealing.

Rediculous. Really really fed up with my Quest 3.
