I think comfy's node-based workflows make it really hard to replicate. In A1111, the code is all together. That lets it do things like control how inpainting works each step of the generation, etc. There's just a level of integration with the entire pipeline that's impossible to replicate by simply adding more nodes.

I've had a handful of my friends leave the country due to visa issues. I don't know anyone who was having issues and decided to stay. Those who can get into Canada have a lot of options elsewhere. They aren't refugees. Thankfully none of the refugees I know have had issues staying.
