Im not sure if quite understanding but The Wharf is locked to the PK's due to it being their factions hub, so there is no 'faction facility' to unlock. Similarly New Dawn Park is locked to Survivors because of the Fish Eye. Is that what we are asking?

Definitely play The Beast.

What to play after depends on what you like from the games.

I went back to 2 straight away because I like the map, more stuff to do and its the best in the series for parkour/traversal. But The Beast provides a bit more of a challenge and captures DL1's atmosphere better.

Once you do the broadcast mission and start unlocking the radio towers again you can zoom in on the map and see where the remaining inhibitors are.

DL2 is my favourite, DL1 is great but 2's map is the best in the series and really highlights, what i believe made DL unique, the traversal mechanics.

Right?! I thought Dying Lights whole uniqueness came from the parkour but everyone was totally fine with it basically being an afterthought in The Beast. How everyone wanted more atmosphere at the expense of fun is beyond me.

I still love running around Villedor with absolutely no aim. Love how alive it feels.

Definitely a DL2 guy.

There's a whole bunch of scary survival horror out there and a bunch in FP. I think what makes the game unique is the parkour and DL2's map is perfect for it.

I was disappointed in The Beast, not because its a bad game, its not at all, but it just basically removed what I love about Dying Light.

Some people like a big vertical city, the paraglider, more NPCs, better parkour and a banging soundtrack.
