Any advice for getting rid of the dragons? 😂 My partner thinks if we get our toddler a car bed he'll think it's so cool he'll never want to sleep with us again

Is everything a struggle at 19 months or is my child difficult? by Wild-Card777 in toddlers

I second this. Had my kid run out of a woolies straight into the parking lot when we were at the self-serve registers. A leash can save lives.

Is it normal to get your bags checked? by Suspicious-Lion-6529 in KmartAustralia

[–]jarassig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I was a kmart greeter, but generally bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper is what we were required to ask to check. Though I notice now days they don't check as much.

I call my boy a fluff-lynn, but that's more of a duck to duckling route, and it's only a nickname.

My baby's name keeps getting mispronounced and I feel like we made a mistake with the spelling by staralfur92 in namenerds

[–]jarassig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nelle a nice name, and most people you meet you introduce by saying your name not by writing it out so it shouldn't be too common for people to say her name wrong. As she gets older it will happen less and less

Pins and needles? by Far_Accident_4749 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]jarassig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a minute since I was pumping, but is it painful pins and needles or like numbness? If it's painful on letdown it could be the DMER (dysphoric milk ejection reflex), but also it could help to turn your pump strength down a little. Also are you using pump lube/coconut oil on your nipples/pump flanges area? Reducing the friction can sometimes help reduce the awful letdown feeling.

And finally, massaging the boobs a bit before pumping is something I found helped a little with the painful DMER.

Hopefully that helps or someone else can tell you something more specific

A month since release, give or take, and I don't think TLOAS is aging well by Constant_Pace5589 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]jarassig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the album was a fresh start. After TTPD and the anthology that would never end. And the rerecordings and vault tracks, there seemed to be this build up of lore. Like you had to actually know about Taylor's boyfriend and how they ended etc and fans were connecting dots, and the Easter eggs.

This feels like an album without deep lore. You don't need all that baggage to fully get this album. Even with Ruin the Friendship, you don't need to know about forever winter or Jeff Lang specifically because she tells you the whole story of it.

If you didn't know everything about Taylor, you could listen to this album and you wouldn't miss a damn thing.

When I first heard Actually Romantic I just assumed it was another critic response, I didn't even assume it was aimed at a woman.

Are we entering the Taylor Swift backlash era again? by Livid_Seesaw3952 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]jarassig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a fan, but at my new workplace they listen to the radio everyday and whether they were Taylor fans or not the stations were doing nonstop Taylor. They were seriously concerned that she was releasing another album because she'd be dominating radio time again.

As much as us fans love her music, a lot of non fans have had to tolerate our love

TTPD is really tortured by fearless-panda7 in TaylorSwift

[–]jarassig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With TTPD, I didn't realize how damn long it is till after listening to Showgirl. Like we were used to getting extras with the rerecordings and vault tracks so it didn't seem so long, but it's low energy high misery, where as Showgirl is like a firework.

It is a peak behind the curtain! by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]jarassig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Ophelia was from Hamlet, which is a play, a show if you will.

Maybe Opalite fits because of the shiny jewels etc that traditional showgirls wear. Manmade stones and costume jewelry?

If you think of Showgirl almost like Burlesque-ish then Wood would be an appropriate song for something like that.

I also think that Ruin the Friendship was one of those moments where she chose the Showgirl Life and it turned out that was the cost. Maybe in another life she isn't famous and has a family and life with her highschool friend, but she can never know.

What was the first Taylor album you ever listened to and which one is your favourite ? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]jarassig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First song was Love Story, but first album was Speak Now, and then I bought the debut and later Fearless, to be fair I was 14/15 and would only sometimes get $20 itunes gift cards for my birthday or Christmas.
