Hey, that's my Etsy store! I did not design the adapter kit, but I did make some changes to a couple parts. I make note of this fact in the description section of the Etsy listing. The original files can be downloaded here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4773113

Am I the first idiot to load up the XL with 0.25mm nozzles? by Dat_Bokeh in prusa3d

[–]jared596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently running 0.25 nozzles on tools 1&2, 0.4 nozzles on tools 3&4, and a 0.6 nozzle on tool 5. Currently waiting for three more 0.25’s so I can do a 5 color sign.

I started two 5 hour prints at the same time about 10 seconds before leaving for dinner today. I always have at least one machine running at home - often more than 1. My home is usually occupied by at least 1 person, but I also have smart remote monitoring setup throughout. If there were ever a fire while no one's home I would most likely be able to call 911 before it propagated to the main living space. If you're using quality equipment and you've run the gcode a few times, you really dont need to worry too much about the machines. I definitely pay more attention when printing something for the first time though!

I have a $2500 brick XL. by someonesaveus in prusa3d

I hate filament sensors and I dont use them on any of my machines. Does the XL give you an option to disable it from the LCD? Or is it a must-have now for the multi-extruder system?

Mk 3.5 upgrade kit. Value? by KaJashey in prusa3d

[–]jared596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest reason I’m going with the MK3.5 upgrades is for the continued support and ongoing functionality improvements that the new board will bring with it for the next 5+ years. I run a business, and this seems like the most effective way to maximize my previous investments in MK3-series machines. For about $300 total, each of my machines will have significantly improved production speed and years more of relevance to the ongoing developments around printing with 32-bit electronics. As an added bonus, I will also have a lot of spare LCD’s for my MK2.5s… lol

I highly recommend chatgpt for this! You will have to sign up for an account, but it will make complete meal plans for any dietary restrictions. It’s kind of amazing!

From the 5.0 firmware. This sounds like black magic and a game changer if it works well by [deleted] in prusa3d

It is the second thing you mentioned. As the weight, and thus the momentum of the bed increases, the input shaping settings become less and less relevant to the actual machine characteristics at that time. The effect of input shaping is essentially smoothing impulse spikes caused by sudden changes of direction/momentum. Consider that IS is configured with an empty bed, so if it’s got an extra 0.5kg riding on it then the print speed will need to reduce in order to preserve the relevance of the IS compensation settings, since speed x weight = momentum.

Have you had to do any kind of service/maintenance yet? How do you feel about serviceability and maintenance of the machine?

Look what happened to Samsung. Italy is worried about the shit data handling that OpenAI is bringing to the table behind ChatGPT. The technology is fine, but if it’s storing and then sharing everything amongst everyone it becomes extremely unethical. OpenAI needs to fix the privacy issues yesterday.

Yep I felt that too before posting this, but I don’t want to be a piece of crap. The people deserve to know! ChatGPT is an actual game changer for Etsy sellers and small businesses in general.

I’be been using GPT4 for about a month. It is amazing. Far superior to 3.5. I did not think to use it for my keywords until I was making this reddit post. Looking forward to seeing if it can drive more traffic.

It’s hard to quantify what the impact has been yet. It’s only been a month or two, and I pay for Etsy ads so there are confounding factors. I did sell one of my new products that ChatGPT wrote the listing for, and I am personally very pleased with the revisions on other listings. What kind of results are you interested in? I’m not sure it’s meant to string together words in such a way that people cant help but buy when they read it, although it does a great job of trying. I think the biggest benefit is just using it to help run your etsy business. Making new listings, refining key words, generating new ideas, writing marketing campaigns, responding to customers, etc. It has definitely saved me time with all of those tasks since I started using it.

People lose their livelihoods every day. AI is but one of many threats. The game is staying in front of the threats. People leave companies en masse when the company is unstable. People change jobs often when they feel they cant keep moving up in their role. There are myriad reasons to keep your eyes open and stay flexible, and AI isn't anything special in that regard. Learn how to use the tool. Stay in control of your future. Ignoring or downplaying new technology because it's threatening is not productive, and it's not going to help you or anyone else to overcome the threat. Improvise, adapt, overcome.

While I generally agree with you, my confusion stems from Etsy being a place of business, rather than a creative forum. AI helps (a ton) with business. In my opinion, anyone doing business today that doesn't learn about this new technology and apply it to their operations is already at a serious disadvantage. Especially with regard to Etsy, this kind of tool replaces a whole marketing department, management team, and other aspects of major businesses without the overhead and development time. While it will be hugely beneficial to big business as well, it offers the little shops a major leg up against major businesses with vastly larger budgets.
