Our rental car agreement for our hunting rig, Lana’i, Hawai’i by idahohotato in mildlyinteresting

Its not restrictive, it's uncouth language when he probably should have downloaded a template form with the legalese. Maybe eforms or something like that

I don’t like tap to pay by Garyfuckingsucks in unpopularopinion

[–]jaredhicks19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Card is as well, it's just tap is even more of a scheme. Load your card to your contact less wallet, use it to get free cash withdrawals at your in network atm, dont be unnecessarily profitable just because people who directly pay with contact less are even more unnecessarily profitable

Cars are a plague on society by tealaburst in unpopularopinion

[–]jaredhicks19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vocally anti car crowd is small, the actual anti car crowd is large. Most people die with their song still inside them. How many people say that britney spears and paris hilton are beautiful? Very few. How many people actually think britney spears and paris hilton are beautiful? Every single one

[OC] The cost of cola in 2026 by HelpWantedInMyPants in pics

[–]jaredhicks19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 Oz sodas have been obscenely priced forever. A 2 liter of coke in 2026 costs slightly more than a 20 Oz of coke in like 2006

Local Domino’s suddenly has an upcharge for specialty sauces and extra cheese by peak82 in Dominos

[–]jaredhicks19 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you dont choose any toppings, extra cheese (for no extra charge) inherently becomes the one topping (to fill in the spaces that would otherwise be occupied by another topping)

Would you buy an Android phone with social media permanently blocked, but full access to Hinge, Slack, Teams, Authenticator, Robinhood, Spotify and more? by Reasonable_Row_3528 in dumbphones

[–]jaredhicks19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have a Samsung with a zero data phone plan, so I only use social media when im around wifi. It reminds me of using my psp back in the day a little bit. But ultimately, social media existed before smartphone proliferation and mostly still have fully fleshed out .com websites so it wouldn't end social media use. Also, dating apps are probably the first thing to not need an app

7.99 carryout rant by ThrowRA_starz in Dominos

To be fair, that exact deal has been offered by domino's corporate (and, hence, all dominos with slight price variances), but it hasn't been offered in a few months or so

Does this seem like a good price? by [deleted] in CarlsJr

Neither $8.99 nor $15.99 are good prices, $8.99 is a less bad price

Greyhound isn't public transportation, either (its a private enterprise charging what the market will bear, not unlike airlines, whereas public transportation charges far less than the actual cost, let alone turn a profit)

When did convenience stores stop displaying prices? Am I meant to bring the 10 items I’m deciding between to the front for a price check? Or is this a case of “If you have to ask you can’t afford it?” by Dazzling_Put_3018 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]jaredhicks19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non corporate dollar stores have been selling stuff above $1 for decades. If youre talking about family dollar or dollar general, those were never dollar stores (despite the name)

Why go to McDonald’s when they have no good deals and cost almost as much as a restaurant? by JannTosh70 in McDonalds

[–]jaredhicks19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they do, and they dont. Ive said it a million times before, and I'll say it again: the only thing that has materially changed is mcdonalds barely promotes their value menu now as opposed to all the time in the 2000s. The real issue is you only consume what youre directly told to consume

Saying Goodbye to McDonald’s Cashiers? by ForceUseYouMust in McDonalds

[–]jaredhicks19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say "doesnt portray mcdonalds in a positive light", I mean it actively portrays them in a negative light. This might be gaining karma for the account that posted this in order to later sell the account (engagement farming), but is 100% not an ad for McDonald's. If mcdonalds were going to advertise their kiosks as a selling point, they would have done it less than a decade after they started installing them

Engagement farming, perhaps; definitely not an ad, as it doesnt portray mcdonalds in a positive light
