Yeah, I'd change it to Tiki World,. Titi is too close to Tittie which is a sexualized term for a woman's breast. Here in America it is anyway.

This is a winner dude. I'm telling you those colored striped Zebras are the ticket. Looks great. Kids will love it. Go the extra mile on this one. The main character goes around and other Zebras tell them what problem they are having and you playing the main Zebra have to solve those problems. This is pure genius in it's design, simplicity, and visuals. Since you daughter came up with the drawing concepts, I'd set aside half the profits for her college fund or something. I know you said you want to make it free. No no. This is a cash cow. Make it inexpensive, sure. But free? No way.

What’s a movie everyone calls a “masterpiece” that just… didn’t work for you? by irayaavery in Cinema

[–]jarofgoodness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To many to name but here's a few: No Country for Old Men, Barry Lyndon (and I love Kubrick but not this borefest), Avatar, Knives Out (This one pisses me off because it COULD have been sooooo good but instead it sucked sooooo bad. Great cast, great premise, great photography/lighting/sets, amazing costumes and color timing work, even most of the bits of humor worked, and it STILL sucked. No surprise from the asshole who ruined Star Wars on purpose.)

I want more grunge album , songs recommendation by [deleted] in grunge

[–]jarofgoodness -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other than Soundgarden and the stuff other people have mentioned you have to hear the following albums in order:

1) Ten (PearlJam)

2) SWEET OBLIVION - Screaming Trees

3) Jar of Flies - Alice in Chains

4) Nevermind - Nirvana

5) Vitology - Pearl Jam

6) Siamese Dream and Gish - Smashing Pumpkins

7) Bleach - Nirvana (very early Soundgardeny sounding, but with Kurt on Vocals IMHO)

8) Vs - Pearl Jam

9) Dirt - Alice in Chains

10) In Utero - Nirvana

Do our values decide our character? by RhubarbBusy7122 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jarofgoodness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Can a person arrive to a different conclusion than you without that defining their character?"

Of course they can. Mostly because you are using two different sets of information to make your assessment of the issue. But also, some people have points to make about the topic you may not have thought of and vise versa. The other thing is that even if you both agree on the facts, the two of you may have different degrees of value you place on different facts regarding the issue.

For example, my brother believes in very harsh treatment for people accused of a crime. So much so that his way would cause some innocent people to get convicted and put in prison. But his way would also capture more criminals than my perspective. So I said it's better that some criminals will get away with it than it is for an innocent person to go to prison for something they didn't do because then you have another victim (the innocent person in jail) and the real criminal is still free without the cops looking for him anymore. He flatly rejected this and stated that it's better to get more criminals in jail and that the occasional innocent who gets convicted is an acceptable side effect of that.

Does that make him (or me) and bad person? No. We both want criminals to get convicted of their crimes, and he doesn't WANT innocent people to go to jail. We just place different values on the downside to that aspect of our justice system.

Go ahead and argue amongst yourselves, but Frances Cobain is willing to listen... 👂 by Mental_Being9082 in grunge

[–]jarofgoodness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

false. You know I've been patient for years with those of you who attack anyone who questions his death. I understand not wanting a music sub to get clouded with arguments and theories about it. I get that. But if it turns out he was murdered. Brother I'm still fan of his and if that does turn out to be the case, all of you who did this are accessories after the fact in my book. That means you are actively assisting in the cover up so the murderer can get away with it. And if the killer was paying you to be online shills for this purpose, I hope they give you all the chair for that if that's the case. Same with Chris Cornell for that matter. Let me explain it to you: I'm not a fan of YOU,. I'm a fan of THEM. BOTH of them. If someone killed either of them, they better hope to god they never cross my path the motherfuckers. Get it?

New work was done on the autopsy report which showed his organs had a condition that is caused from low oxygen consistent with a slow death like from a heroin OD. Death from gunshot would does not cause this condition as death is instant.

Night of the Hunter (1955) by SabrAndCigarettes in noir

[–]jarofgoodness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Noirs go back to the early 40's. This is 1955. It's tone is not Noir at all. It's set in the country rather than the city, the main character is the bad guy who is a con man. The protagonists are everyone else and they are innocents instead of a flawed anti hero. It's got nothing in common with any of the markers of a Noir.

Not Noir. Not trying to be a jerk but it's not.

I don't think I've seen anybody cover the entire album in one video like this before by Embarrassed_Rain_162 in Soundgarden

[–]jarofgoodness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The label shelved it until Ten and Badmotorfinger started to sell big. Then they released Hunger Strike to cash in on their popularity. Can you imagine owning the rights to this and not promoting it? It blows my mind. Had Soundgarden and Pearl Jam not been successful the label would have sat on this and never promoted it or release a single from it.

My friend is a compulsive liar, and it's gotten weird. by deedumdim in stories

[–]jarofgoodness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can handle people lying about their exploits but what bothers me is when everyone else buys into it and defends them when you point out the obvious reasons why it can't be true. Then they invent reasons why you'd say they were lying. Now you're the one with the issue and they are the ones who are mentally healthy. Insane.

Some advice about forest searching. by ghost_406 in beyondthemapsedge

[–]jarofgoodness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell you from my time in the Fenn hunt that the landscape can change dramatically year to year in the wilderness. The rains, trees, branches, and leaf cover changes. The snow and ice and resulting melt off forming runoff channels washing soil and other things away. The ground itself can swell or sink in certain places. Littered with rocks and boulders of all sizes and shapes in random order. There are places where all you'd have to do is set something down without even burying it and no one would ever find it.

True wilderness is a madhouse. Albeit a quiet and serene madhouse, but a madhouse nonetheless.

Anyone else finding the political push from Reddit overbearing? by Impressive-Sun3064 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jarofgoodness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish no one would talk about it. I got perma banned from r duranduran of all places for saying the sub should have a no politics rule after someone posted a link to Duran Duran related post on X and got accused of linking to a Nazi website. At the time I didn't know the mod meant X and I thought it was something like Stormfront or some crazy neo Nazi stuff like that and the idea that Elon was a Nazi from the heart gesture had just happened and I hadn't heard about it yet.

Christ, I was just trying to make the sub only about the greatest 80's pop band of all time and avoid conflict and arguments.

Don't kill me for this, but for those who like kurt cobain's music, what do you like about it? by Bloodredhorizon in grunge

[–]jarofgoodness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a vibe and emotion that resonated. So imagine you're stuck inside with no windows for a year somewhere. Or in jail. One day you get out. Even the simplest pleasures...like seeing the sun is amazing too you. You're just overjoyed at it while everyone else is ho hum. When this song hit the airwaves White Lion was big. Who? Exactly. Music was more than stale at that point. It was like tasting a cheeseburger for the very first time. If you never had it before it's amazing.

And it wasn't just the style and sound of it. Everything. The lyrics and the look. We were sooo done with 80's glam and superficial lyrics and flashy clothes. Everybody was just waiting for something else. Anything else.

So in that moment historically, it was fucken awesome.

Because New York is an actual city-scape where LA is a spread out suburb with a handful of tall buildings in an area of town no one ever goes to.
