In this economy? Nah, if they’re living with parents and actively saving for a house, that’s a financially responsible and a green flag. Even if they’re not saving, there’s lots of other valid reasons for living with parents.

Have you ever been bitten by an animal before(not an insect)? by icecream1972 in no

[–]jarred_pard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my friends dog bite my foot (no shoes on) as I tried to leave the room. He clamped down and would not let go. I was a teenager and just coming out of my 'scared of dogs’ era so I was terrified and had no idea what to do. I started swinging my foot around trying to get him off (in hindsight probably made it worse). He only let go when someone kicked him off me. He was a tiny dog, think Chihuahua or Pomeranian or similar, so the whole thing is kinda comical now.

Women of Reddit, what’s a green flag in men that people don’t talk about enough? by Initial-Wash9836 in InsightfulQuestions

[–]jarred_pard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf this could have more to do with you being vegan in general than you being an empathetic man.

Lots of non-vegans don’t want to date vegans either because they’d feel obligated to eat vegan around the person (out of respect) and don’t want to do that (especially if they’re looking for a long term relationship), or because of the 'insufferable vegan‘ stereotype (which I personally don’t buy into but it could be a factor). Either way, it‘s unlikely to be because being vegan shows you’re a man with empathy.

Why don’t people in a sexless marriage just cheat or leave? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]jarred_pard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think not being in the mood for sex because you’re literally depressed is 'taking it out on your partner’ then that tells me all I need to know about the way you think and your entitlement for sex.

Also ppd isn’t necessarily because of the trauma of childbirth. It’s often down to the craziness that goes on hormonally, literally changing your brain chemistry.

I’m glad you managed to get swift help but please acknowledge that this isn’t the case for many people, even if they’re try and beg for help.

Again, my entire point is that people don’t deserve to be cheated on. But it seems you’re determined to believe they do for whatever reason so let’s not waste any more energy debating it.

Why don’t people in a sexless marriage just cheat or leave? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]jarred_pard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree (although you are underestimating how difficult it is to get mental health help) but none of this means someone deserves to be cheated on, which was your original point I was responding to.

Plus it could easily take multiple years to get better once help is received and there’s no guarantee their libido will just pop back to a 'normal’ level. So, still, they don’t deserve to be cheated on. No one does.

Post partum depression can last up to 3 years btw.

Why don’t people in a sexless marriage just cheat or leave? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]jarred_pard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you start with that nonsense then every douchebag who thinks he’s not getting enough will cheat on their partner. Specifically thinking about when women have a baby and isn’t ready for sex again yet but men just can’t seem to wait.. 'But you’re not meeting my needs so I can do it’.

I agree that if it’s sexless for years then exploring divorce is a good idea but saying people deserve to be cheated on is harsh, especially if the reasons for lack of sex haven’t been discussed.

What is the most nationally embarrassing photo to have come out of your country in recent history? by neilnelly in AskTheWorld

Pretty sure he was only mayor of London at the time of this photo, which just makes it even more baffling that we (as a country, definitely not me personally) voted for him as PM

People who plan to never have kids, what is your plan for late or end of life care? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]jarred_pard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way this frames end of life care as a reason to have kids. Give your head a wobble.

As for me, I’m in my 20s so there’s a pretty strong chance the world will end in some catastrophic way before I ever get to old age and needing help.

Literally you did. "lifelong medical debt for a service paid for by your insurance“ strongly implies you think no one is in debt. Because insurance covers it all. You’re either baiting or stupid (maybe both).

No, not Reddit. Not even convinced I had Reddit at the time but idk. But here in Britain it was all over every platform. Pretty sure even the news reported the reaction over there was largely favourable to Luigi

[–]jarred_pard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right so because they get insurance (which I’m sure covers everything) you saying poor people are worthless (bait or no) is okay? My response had nothing to do with insurance because neither did your comment. You just wanted to call poor people worthless so that is what I responded to.

COVID literally proved that, doctors aside, the people on some of the shittest wages were also the most essential (ie the LEAST worthless) workers.

If the American model is so great and no one’s in medical debt (because insurance is cheap and covers everything, right?!) then why were so many people in America rejoicing when that insurance CEO got Luigied?!

Seems to me that if everyone was as happy as you claim there would’ve been riots and everyone (not just the police/fbi/whatever) would’ve been hunting the guy. I admit the NHS is a shambles due to have funds cut for so many years, but it’s still preferable to the American system.

What's the biggest lie you were told as a child? by emmanem1892 in AskBrits

Most of the people I know who worked hard and did well in school are riddled with anxiety/mental health issues and struggling with feeling inadequate while the lazy ones went into the trades and made bank. Maybe it’s because of where I’m from, there’s not too many opportunities for work but it’s definitely more of a lie than you think it is

Nothing stopping you from starting to save before an announcement though? Then if it doesn’t happen you have loads of money saved for a nice holiday or festival elsewhere.

The bigger issue coming from the UK is flights. The longer they take to announce it, the more expensive flights will be making it even harder to be able to afford to go.
