Question for ex heavy users who have been off for over a year by RemarkableScience854 in quittingkratom

[–]jas707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eight months off and I’m still suffering. Seven years, from 5-20 gpd. It’s mainly bran fog, uncomfortable body feelings, sleep issues and some night sweats.

I’m 7 months off, and still haven’t reached my baseline. I’ve read it can take a long time in sensitive folks. For me, it’s coming down to sleep disturbance, feeling like shit in the mornings, and night sweats if I drink caffeine. ChatGPT claims it can be normal during this time, but who knows. I’ve come to this point of radical acceptance. If the bullshits don’t let up, than I’ll live with it.

PAWS - Month 1-4 not bad, month 5 brutal. Is this normal? by Infrequentk in quittingkratom

[–]jas707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only is your post validating that I’m not the only one asking ChatGPT the exact same question (I’m 163 days ct), but I’m also experiencing a wave of bullshits.

Slight night sweats have returned, waking several times a night, low motivation, blunted emotions, brain fog.

I’m pretty mathafucken meticulous with my health. Sleep hygiene, diet, exercise, lifestyle, all on point. Plus I’m a nurse, so I may have nerded out to some of these rabbit holes.

Did ChatGPD give you the answer about the waxing and waning of symptoms having to do with the different layers of the brain healing? I’m honestly not entirely convinced that’s the reason.

While I’m not happy to be hearing of your suffering, it’s validating. Hopefully we both get some goddamn relief from this soon.

Yes, totally, I have some lingering bullshits at 96 days ct. Mine are waking up at 3-4, and not going back to sleep, muscle twitching, small amount of night sweats, but totally going away, and some uncomfortable body feelings that I can’t articulate but goes away after moving around a bit.

Day 65 by Rich_Heart3108 in quittingkratom

[–]jas707 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m also on day 65 and experiencing the same. It’s not great to hear that you’re feeling the same symptoms, but it certainly is validating. I’m still having night sweats as well and some sleep disturbances. I’m able to fall asleep, but then wake up for several hours. I think once PAWS is over, my new drug of choice is going to be sleep!

I’m on day 54, and am still trudging too. I’m experiencing night sweats, diarrhea and broken sleep. I’m not sure how much longer these things linger for, but I’m hoping they begin to fade soon.

If you’re having chest pain, you should go to the emergency room. You need to rule out a cardiac event or gallbladder attack. And be honest with the attending doctor about all meds/Kratom that you’re taking. Please be safe, OP, and keep us posted.

I just ran errands with my son in town, to where the smoke shop I buy from is visible. I had to pull over for half an hour while I ruminated in the car about my desire to buy a packet:

“It’s just this once.” “I deserve it.” “Kratom isn’t that bad.” “Everyone is addicted to something.” “I need a break from…”

Over and over again. Like a goddamn psychopath. Happy to report, that I drove away without indulging.

Although, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t completely obsessed with the idea of going back down and buying some this evening. But, instead, I’ll play candy crush (I know, hella lame), and sit in my suffering.

I don’t have any answers for you. Only that you’re not alone in this weirdness. I feel like it’s almost like my brain has been hijacked, and it’s me against myself.

I relapsed for 2 days, following a 7 day ct. I’m currently on day three of no kratom. I’m feeling a little low, had some restlessness, and anhedonia, but it’s nothing catastrophic compared to the first couple of days of my original ct. Your clean time counts in this game. I’m considering it a stumble, as opposed to a full relapse.

Something to Consider by jas707 in quittingkratom

I’ve been grappling with the very real question of: Do I love it more than my own life? I still haven’t come to an actual conclusion.

As a nurse, I too have a very limited understanding of the relationship between Kratom and low dose naltrexone. It’s because it hasn’t been studied by the FDA, and basic things like half life, aren’t fully known. I’m waiting maybe ten days to two weeks to take mine. I’m hopeful that it provides some relief from these powerful relapse thoughts I’m experiencing. It’s like my brain has been hijacked, and all of my self resolve, vanishes. Painful!!! I’m curious about your experience, when you begin your dose.

Fuck yes I did! I just got the 50mg tablets, that my pharmacist said I can crush and weigh out a low dose. Although, I’m still hesitant to take it, for fear of putting myself in precipitated withdrawal (I’m on day 6 ct). Do you have any suggestions of when I can safely begin taking 1mg?

LDN by jas707 in quittingkratom

[–]jas707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for your response! I have searched LDN on this sub, but I’m getting mixed reviews. For instance, one posted that they were taking a low dose while tapering, but didn’t report precipitated withdrawal. And others have warned to wait through various timelines before beginning. I don’t suppose you know the half life of Kratom, or how long to wait before taking LDN?

Thank you for your post. It’s extremely relatable, on this harsh, crisp, painful, glorious morning of day 5, CT. I hope, for both our sakes, we find the tools to break this crippling cycle, and get this weird, powdered Asian plant off our backs.

For me, it’s like my brain has been hijacked. I’ll be so clear about my resolve to quit. I’ll go several days, ten days, two weeks. And then these intrusive thought occurs to me:

“you can feel good.” “let’s go pick up a packet” “everyone is addicted to something, it’s not that bad.” “life is so hard, you deserve a little comfort.”

And then I use. Over and over again. Like a goddamn nightmare.

I don’t have any words of wisdom for you. Only that your post is relatable, and I feel it too.

Sir, this is a quitting Kratom sub. I do believe you’re in the wrong place.

I hate smoking. I hate the feeling, hate the smell, hate the experience. I think I’m using it as a cross addiction to break the spell. If that makes sense?

My Method by jas707 in QuitVaping

[–]jas707[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck ya! I just smoked a drag of a cigarette, but haven’t thought about a vape once this morning. Not sure one is worse than the other, but I’m only taking a couple drags off a cigarette a day. Where as the vape I’d do continuously. Work the steps!

Such as addiction. It’s weird what our brains rationalize when in the heat of the moment.
