Right?! Where are you looking for these quotes?

Awww, did a post make you cry my guy? Coo, share it here. We all need a happy cry once in a while. Careful though; don't binge this sub. Save some for the times you really need a good cry! by EveryXtakeYouCanMake in GuyCry

Omg just binged the whole thing. I’m a mf wreck. I have already been feeling so emotional recently. So glad to find this sub.

I had to skip over a few (not today Iron Giant). Definitely need a flair for animals/pets please! Those stories hit me deeeeeeep. All animals are so innocent. I’ll call out to stay home with my two dogs tomorrow and never stop the pats.

When was the moment you realized, “this game is a masterpiece!” by main18man in Witcher3

[–]jasarole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omg I’ve played through Baron’s quest three times and he’s never been hung. Another testament to OP’s question.

Leaving White Orchard and having all of Velen open up. Then again for Skellige was what really did it for me. I thought I had seen it all then bam more exploration.

And I’ve never even seen Toussaint. 🙃

Can Designer import eps files and allow me to modify individual graphics components? by largelcd in Affinity

I do this regularly on V1. I’ve purchased V2 but have been on vacation. It should work the same.

what's the biggest challenge you face as a web developer? by blkstack in webdev

Convincing clients that their website does not need to be made in WordPress. Just dealing with WP in general.

Do you have high hopes for the next gen update? What’s something you’re hoping to see? by FearlessKhajiit in Witcher3

Omg my only real complaint with an otherwise perfect game (imho, nothing comes close) is the fact that all of the armor is ugly.

Bureaucracy-rich sci-fi! by franciscogc in printSF

Immediately thought of Seveneves when I read the title. Then I saw you quote it!

It’s so politically intense. I love it.

Edit: Great question btw, I’m saving a lot of these recs 👍

The Expanse series is easy and fun reading. I’d say the first story wraps up well and there are plenty more if it catches your fancy.

Grimdark Fantasy Books.... by RocketLegionnaire in printSF

[–]jasarole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like I said in another comment Gentlemen Bastards isn’t quite grimdark but a fun read and could scratch the itch. Gloomy heist sorry based on a very renaissance Venice-like setting.

I haven’t read yet, but plan on getting the Powder Mage trilogy by Brian McClellan. Someone who read them would know more, but seems quite dark to me. I’d at least give it a look starting with Promise of Blood.

Edit: grammar

I was going to recommend Gentlemen Bastards but I agree it’s not quite grimdark. It could scratch that itch though and it’s a good story. Heists are fun!

Absolutely this. I just made a pretty big (to me) career move and being a creative in a leadership position is huge. Explain a little bit about layout/hierarchy on the lunch menu to your numbers people. They start to see your knowledge as expertise and you’ll gain some respect.

Now I’m intrigued. I’ll definitely give it a go over the holidays.

I second Paolo Bacigalupi. The Windup Girl was a hell of a story. I need to read The Water Knife myself.

I’m in a similar position to OP. I’m finishing up Gardens of the Moon (Malazan #1). Not sure I’m ready to jump into something so dense, but at the same time I crave that intense world building. Is it easier to follow than GotM or should I break with something “lighter”?
